SPM v. 0.7.17 is now available

Post by Nacho84 »

Hello all,

The latest update for SPM is now available! Please download it directly from the Matrix FTP at ftp://beta.matrixgames.com . When prompted, please specify the following username and password: SPMBetaTester/SpmBeta1114. I strongly recommend you to download the file using filezilla.

Inside the FTP you will find an installer file named SPM-Windows-Slitherine-0-7-17.exe, just download it and run it. Notice that you need to have your installation updated to SPM v. 0.7.15.1 first in order for it to work properly, so please make sure you update your installation to that version first.

This update features both new gameplay mechanics and content, such as the new NASA and Soviet space agency sandbox modes (each one with its own unique space complex!), lots of balancing and tweaking to the game scripts and database, new robotic soviet programs (Korabl-Sputnik 2, Mars M69 and Luna 3), support for any 16:9 resolution, new badges and much, much more! Make sure you check the full changelog here to get a complete overview of the new version.

Notice that the savefiles from 0.7.16 are no longer valid for 0.7.17 because of all the new information that is now required to run the game, so you will need to start a new game from scratch.

Looking forward to hear your feedback!

Cheers,

Because 0.7.15.1 is a small patch that was released via the auto-updater tool. We didn't provide a file to install it manually since you were going to be able to grab it from the game's launcher.

My apologies -- I'm not sure I understand. I have version 0.7.16 installed, and I think it was the first version I installed. Should I uninstall it, install 0.7.15, and somehow update it to 0.7.15.1 before attempting to upgrade to 0.7.17?

Thanks for any clarification you can provide -- and my deepest thanks for all the effort you continue to put into improving and deepening this game!

It means you need to have it updated to AT LEAST version 0.7.15.1 for the patch to work.

Ooof! ... >25 minute download with a 15Mb/sec DSL line! Thats one large download.

Thanks! I ran it with 0.7.16 installed, and things seem to be working well. Again, my gratitude for all the hard work on this game!

Getting a CRC error... says I need to reinstall. Do I need Plimus to get the full version again?

Hello flanyboy,

No, don't think it's necessary to contact plimus in this situation. Please contact support at slitherine.co.uk.
