"Lock ‘n Load: Heroes of Stalingrad has stopped working, Windows is looking for a solution"

Post by KingBis »

Hi,

I have a problem with Lock ‘n Load: Heroes of Stalingrad that makes that I can't play with the game.

Firt, I downloaded the game. But when I try to run the application, it says : "libcurl.dll is missing". I have downloaded the file and then, when I try again to run the application, a black screen appears and after a few secondes, there is a message : "Lock ‘n Load: Heroes of Stalingrad has stopped working, Windows is looking for a solution".

I tried to install the game on several PC, but I have still the same problem.

I have Windows 7.

Could you please help me.

Thank you in advance.

libcurl.dll is included in the install, so that sounds like the install somehow didn't work. I would first make sure you didn't run out of disk space, then try downloading it again and reinstalling.

Thank you for the reply.

Yes, I have enough space on my disk and even if I download again the game, there is still the same problem.

And is this libcurl.dll in the game directory with locknload.exe after an install? There should be three dlls copied by the installer: libcurl, freeimage, and zlib.

I'm having exactly this same problem. Is anyone else playing under Windows 7? I install the game, install Visual C++ (although why does it want the 2008 version?) and it tells me that libcurl.dll is missing. The game doesn't seem to install properly in the first place, as it never reaches my Start menu. It also doesn't show up in the Control Panel under installed programs, so I can't uninstall it (and there is no uninstaller in the program directory for it). When I try to launch it from the game directory by double-clicking the .exe, it gives me the libcurl error.

Any thoughts?

I'm running with Win7 with no problems.

My guess from your description is that maybe yer anti-virus program is not playing well with the installer. Disable it while doing a clean install and se if that works.
