Did you change the directory where the game was installed? If you did, did you change make sure and use the same directory for the install of the patch.
The game launched before I added the patch. I wanted to see if that did something. So it's the patch which may be causing the conflict. I'll look over the site, but I'm not too keen on changing Windows main config files which run fine on every other program.
I'm presuming this is what I need to do:
"The program has failed to launch" or "The application has failed to start" -- Why?
This is aka the "side-by-side" error.
Most likely, you don't have the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package.
Make sure you get the right version for your system architecture (32 vs. 64 bit)!
I have no idea if I am 32 or 64.
Please reply if possible.
Come with me and I'll show you where the Crosses of Iron grow
1) Game runs w/out patch
2) Installed the Windows update
3) Game will run with the update non patched
4) Same error with the 2.0 patch.
5) Ran the update from the game engine - didn't run
I've had to install/uninstall three times -
Please help - nothing more discouraging than patches that create more bugs than they fix
