Allies roll a 5 for the End Turn roll. Turn keeps going.

5th Axis Impulse:

Land Combat (continued):
Final attack, at +21 modifier. Absolutely no way luck plays into this. Guess what? Yup, Germany rolls the highest attack roll its had in the last eight attacks. A very high roll of 12 out of 20. My sarcasm is slightly dripping right now.

With everyone else passing, the Soviets use this impulse to try to save a few more units and hopefully end the turn.

The turn roll is a .. 9. Turn keeps going

6th Axis Impulse:

Weather:
4 - Fine everywhere but N. Monsoon (rain)

Actions:
GE Land
IT Land
JA Land

Jul/Aug 1940

6th Axis Impulse:

Rail Movement:
IT rails a GARR to the French border
GE rails a Turkish MTN to Iraq

Land Combat:
Japan makes an attack on the 4-1 GARR guarding Sian and Mao's right flank. They are able to get a base +8.5 modifier. Mao and Imezu are forced to use HQ support to balance each other out.

China chooses the Blitz table.

I am THIS CLOSE to quitting this AAR lol. Japan rolls a 4 out of 20. The Axis attack rolls are killing them long-term. They cannot survive trading 2 units for 1 Allied unit.

6th Axis Impulse:

Land Combat (continued):
High modifier. Check.
Advantage in Armor, so attacker can choose Blitz table. Check.
No losses for defense, AGAIN...

The Soviet units have gotten probably two impulses worth of free movement just from the retreats they've been able to get. Germany breaks the ability for the Soviets to form a good line once again, and at least the Germans didn't lose any more units, but really, they can't win this war getting these mediocre results. They need KILLS.

1st Allies Impulse:

Actions:
US Combined
CH Land
CW Naval
Fr Combined
SU Land

Naval Moves:
US tries another port strike on Truk, but once again Japan rolls well enough to avoid the port attack

France moves their fleet out to West Med, if the situation allows they want to support a possible breakout from Marseilles

CW transports a South African TERR to Bay of Biscay to land in Spain
CW moves its smaller CV fleet out to Bay of Bengal to protect India
CW moves a SUB to South China Sea
CW moves a BB fleet to Bay of Biscay for bombardment support to Wavell in Spain
CW moves a Greek SCS to East Med to make things difficult to Italian fleet wanting to do shore bombardment of Athens (Italy did a dumb move and went to port in Turkey, making them easy to put out of supply)

US moves 3 BBs and brings 2 MILs from Venezuela off of Brazil coast

Combat:
- CW initiates search in South China Sea for Japanese CONVs. Search unsuccessful.
- France initiates search in Italian Coast for Italian CONVs. Search unsuccessful.

Ground Strikes (continued):
Soviets try a ground strike on an OOS Swedish MOT corps. If successful, they'll try to get an easy kill in the land attack phase. Nope.

Wasted strikes globally. Not a single hit.

1st Axis Impulse:

Actions:
GE Land
IT Land
JA Land

Ground Strikes:
Rainy weather precludes alot of air usage, but in Marseilles in the Fine weather, the Italians strike Marseilles. Clearing this city will be their priority this turn, as it will create a land bridge between Spain and Italy and negate the need of CONVs in the West Med. The strike goes OK, hitting 1 of 2.
