Sorry Paul dont have a good long time as do a lot of players my age, even if it is a simpler game it is better than nothing, which at the moment is what we have. [nothing[:(] ]

See what I told you when you enroled as a play tester? I don't blame Steve of anything and am still grateful for this project, otherwise orphan, ...
... but I lost my faith that it would be ready anytime soon and it was very painful for me the first time it was supposed to be released. I told my wiffer friends and they didn't believe it was going to happen.
"It's not possible to make a computer wif", "after 13 years, I don't think the game is going to be ended ever" "they are always on the verge of ending it" were the answers I got. I shared all my conviction that the game would come out then (like 2 years ago) and they laughed at me. Some months later I knew they were right and they laughed even more. That's when I lost my faith and decided it will be ready when it's ready and I don't care a damm.![]()
Hi Jose

Aha I see Jose. There is no doubt if Steve remains healthy the game might get finished, and might not. When I joined I was very eager to help out anyway I could but now the shine has worn off the game and I believe we are a long long way from being finished no matter what the big cheeses say.
I also believe that reasonable credibility has been destroyed the way things were handled and I am not sure if it will ever be restored. But I am not a psychiatrist and cannot judge players moods so they might forgive and forget. This whole thing is a shame IMHO, I am hoping it does not tarnish this brillant board game.

I have no problems with the current state of the game. Now or even when the game came out. Of course what occurred was pretty much is what I expected to occur [:)] So no lofty expectations here. [:D]
But actually, I thought the game on release was in much better shape than what I expected. As far as I am concerned, Steve is not giving up and is still going strong on getting rid of bugs and improving it. If it takes another year, so what. It is far better to have it out and being worked on than sitting in the dark for another year or two and still have a bad release. Because no matter how much the beta's did, there was no way they could have discovered some of the issues and problems the player base has.
But hey this is just me [:)]

Hi Numy
I am very pleased you feel that way, really I am, I am just a little down in the dumps over the game, my problem is I do not hide my feelings which is good and bad. I am glad you have years ahead to wait for everything to be right, I and some others do not have all that time to enjoy a finished game and that is probably where some of my negativity is coming from. I apoligize for my negativity, I just try to tell it like I see it.

RE: 3rd Reich
Right now I have played the Barbarossa & Guadalcanal scenarios and they are totally playable (some glitches when forms close, but I'm playing with Mac OS and Parallels, so who knows).
I guess I have to play some Global War or NetPlay to find the bugs... but I was expecting them to be fixed by the time I have learned how to play the game. [:)]

At least the supply bugs will be - and they are the first annoying ones....

RE: 3rd Reich
So if I'm suffering supply bugs in Barbarossa & Guadalcanal... I'm just not realizing of them! Actually, when something is "wrong" I assume I haven't understood properly the rules, and I guess that's 98% of the cases. I will check carefully next time, to see if I can spot a bug, so I can report it.

I wish more of the players would assume this. I've seen a lot of bug reports that aren't bugs at all.

Yeah, when I find a "bug" or a question with no answer I write it down in a list, I don't post it here immediately. After a week or so, I have discovered the answer to most of my questions myself.

RE: 3rd Reich
I too am perfectly willing to wait years.
After all I've been waiting since the first rumours of a computer version back in 1995.
In the meantime, I'll keep playing solo and learning all the rules I don't know. I lost count after 100 hours of the fun I've already had with this game and that's without Netplay or AI yet.

UNfortunately these projects measure in years. I wonder how many of the initial buyers of CWIF ore even MWIF are no longer with us.
Of course when one is old enough he is more exposed, altough you never really know when it will be your time. A fiend of mine of my age (around 51) died from cancer with only one month of "advice".
The first time I read this from Bo, years ago, I thought he was joking. Now I know better. Not that I am really worried as of now, but the risk is always there.

Yes, since that's the only way you can have fun with the game by now.[:)][:-][:'(]

RE: 3rd Reich
Isn't it a bit over the top to link to a different company's purchase page on Matrix's forum?
Paul
RE: 3rd Reich
Eh, I don't think it will take away sales from Matrix. I see it as a service to our community.
