ACOW question

I've been playing TOAW3 for a while now and I like it a lot, but I've never played the previous versions.

First off - ACOW is just a collection of the versions that came before it, and is all inclusive up to that point, is that correct?

I was wondering if there is any reason to get a copy of ACOW and play it, or is it all pretty much covered in TOAW3? Are there any people who think the old versions are better?

I'm just curious because I noticed that ACOW is pricey on ebay. Often much more than a new copy of TOAW3.

to be blunt, no reason to go for ACOW. Just look at the whats'new.doc of ACOW and compare it with TOAW III. I also can recommend the following article (yeah, I wrote it!)

Yes, TOAW III is a direct development of ACOW. The only reason to get ACOW is if you are into collecting games.
