The titanic struggle in China continues, a possible surrender of a quarter of a million Chinese looms in the near future.

This is one of the advantages as the defender if you use two day turns, as the odds were 1:1 there would be an attack on the second day and I suspect that this would hurt Japan a lot.

Unfortunately I think Zulu is playing 1 day turns, which means this isn't the beginning of the end for Chunking, it's probably closer to the end of the end...
No matter Zulu, you've taken more than your fair share of IJA troops with you. And looking on the bright side, you'll have more time to spend deciding where to commit your swelling Allied forces elsewhere in the Pacific soon. (It always helps to have a bright side when you're playing this game. Hang in there, Zulu.)

Zulu, you lost a lot of carriers. Did you buy back the airgroups? Those should help you push forward without carriers support..

Wow, talk about a siege, the garrison at Chungking falls today. Yes, I am on one day turns, can't imagine two day ones. I've put in a few snapshots which sum up the carrier situation. Right now I am (1) waiting for Port Moresby to reach AF9, it is at 60 odd percent from 8, should be within ten days. (2) carrier TFs to reach the forward area in SoPac. I have an ambitious plan to accelerate the seizing of the Solomons. (3) Newly arrived transport groups to get supply flowing into Central Burma. Large formations are present with several more entering the jungles. I did not list the escort carriers. My mistake. I think I have three in SwPac and a further four or five at sea on escort duty on the way to the Fiji's.

Chunking sucks. Sorry man. I hate getting the incorrect sinking reports. I got it on the CV that took 2 TTs a few turns ago.
RE: Zuluhour vs Zigurat666: Summer of '42
Great AAR. I like how detailed reports are. Especially graphics.
[:D]
Zuluhour.
I dot know how hard Shokaku was hit, but from my experience even if not sunk after battle CV was crippled. Probably less than 2-3 hexes daily of movement. Add to that time spend in places like Truk to pomp water and reduce sys damage. And again trip to Japan. You can safely assume that he will need 4-8 weeks before CV enter dry dock.
Shokaku is big ship 25000 tons (2x bigger from CA, 75% of BB size) so repairing damage will take some time. You can count 2-4 months of repairs and 2 weeks to back to Pacific
So in total i will say Shokaku is out of action for ~4-7 months.
You can assume 2 months for each TT hit and 1 month for any bomb that penetrate armor plus travel time both ways 2 month total
