RE: THE THREAD!!!
Welp, Tarawa secured aside from a few stragglers which I assume will be dealt with this turn. 1 USN CVE lost to 4 IJN DD, 3 AK and 2 SS. Win for me.

Afternoon tithe.
Actually started a campaign vs the AI, which I haven't done for four+ years. Plays fairly well as long as I don't do anything crazy to upset the scripts.

He's "from" Dallas (as in home town). He lives in Jacksonville. And I don't think he ever changed it when he moved a couple of years ago.
Ah. So.
You wanna try that save game again, big guy?
RE: THE THREAD!!!
Althoug I would prefer to lose Liscombe Bay to the CVE you lost. Those converted AO's are impressive little CVE's. Luck of the game. [:)]ORIGINAL: Terminus

Stupid Dakota tithe [:@] Although I suspect my ire should be directed at stupid Pratt & Whitney. Who designs an engine where you need to take the f****** generator off to change the starter motor. Which, by the way, is located in possibly the most awkward place they could have fitted it without adding barbed wire or putting it inside a cylinder.
Supermarine aren't doing any better in my list of people who have annoyed me this week either. Changing an oil cooler on the MkIX (or XVI) is harder than it should be. It involves draining all the coolant from the aircraft because the oil cooler is bolted to the radiator and then the combined unit needs a lot of angling and persuasion to come out of a space that is just a bit too small to be able to get any access.
How did the Allies actually manage to win the war when maintenance was this difficult!?

Tarawa secured with a final light sprinkling of 1000lb bombs and 16in shells. And 3 more IJN subs sunk in one day.
I know they probably weren't all sunk, but it looked good...[:D]

Yeah, cack happens. I have more landings to do before 1943 ends. Ideally, at least two more.

RE: THE THREAD!!!
Went to a wedding for two musicians my wife plays in a orchestra with. They had brides maids in various rainbow colors. They were in order from left to right Red, Orange, Blue, Yellow, Green, Violet. I think I was the only one that was bothered by this order. If only blue had moved two to the right...

RE: THE THREAD!!!
Carrier engagement on the heels of my invasion of Tarawa, and I seem to have gotten the long end of the stick. Saratoga, Independence and South Dakota damaged (none badly) for the reported sinking of Ryujo and Zuiho and damage to Shokaku, Shoho and Kirishima. My CVTF seems to have gotten away, too.
Anyhoo, time to rest my eyes. Spent more time outside in the sun yesterday than planned, sans sunglasses.
