Game crash Giant Kaltor overload

I think I just had this same crash happening for me, but I was able to work my way around it by going into the game editer and Deleting ALL of the Giant Kaltors before trggering the event that will happen there. After the event I quickly deleted the base as well before another giant kaltor spawned and crashed my game.
