can't change themes + 1.9.5.2 savegame issue

After i installed 1.9.5.2 (using the DRM-free version) i loaded a previous game. Worked fine for about 20 minutes, then DW crashed. I restarted, now DW wants to switch to the ancient theme when trying to load the savegame (which is not from that era) and crashes again. Manually switching theme in main menu also leads to a crash. Starting a new game works (although i did not try the ancient era).
i had no problems before (but never tried to switch themes before). I reinstalled - still the same. NET framework and xna are ok. Win7 64.


Edit: Had to find out it's worse. Started a new game yesterday, now tried to load save, game tries to change theme again and crashes. I gave it a try and started a new game again and load the save from in-game: crash.


Any ideas would be welcome.


another Edit:
deinstalled. deleted remaining folders. ran ccleaner to fix possible registry-issues. deinstalled .NET & XNA. reinstalled. Still same issue
deinstalled & reinstalled via steam: same issue.
Starting new game still works. creating a new save then and try to load it: crash. no dump in any folder.
