RE: Patch 07 - Unofficial Public Beta - 1117 updated 22 September 2012
This is just a hunch, so give me the raspberry if needed!ORIGINAL: m10bob
Just a heads up...I am using a patch from maybe a couple of months ago and when the USS Washington came in at Balboa in 8/'42...I could not get it to leave..Was getting an error message that "The port can only dock up to 24,000 Tons"(I had no problem with the Wasp a couple of months ago)......Dunno if anybody else noticed this..I play the game much more than I read the threads....Michaels' contibutions are fantastic!!!...(Today I am starting a new game using the newest patch....)..
Back past a certain Beta - forget which one - when ships were added to an existing, docked TF, the additions would only be allowed if the new size of the TF stayed within the docking limit.
After a later Beta, additions beyond the docking limit will be allowed but the TF will become un-docked as a result.

Yeah...that is not the issue...I was not able to get the ship to leave at all..I tried to "create TF" of almost all types and got that inappropriate message..I was not trying to "dock" anything..The swabbies were just not leaving the hooches nor the local pillow women...[:D]..I moved on and am now using the latest patch#8...........

Just a thought. But could it be possible to make an R unit able to load on a ship but only able to unload at the same type of base. IE load up a PI unit and drop it at a PI base only.
Thanks

My opponent stopped playing about a year ago and wants to resume an old game (Scen 1). The old games were under 1.6.1108r9 - if I install this new patch will the old save games still be compatible?
EDIT- never mind - just realized that was the last semi-official non-beta change - so if he reinstalls his game we can sync up again as I assume that will be the patch he will get. I'll still test to see if it works in one of my installed beta patches which did add lots of useful stuff but even pre-beta WITP was still fun as hell.
EDIT2 jump from 1.6.1109r9 to newest beta smooth - land AA seems tougher but based on three replays that might be just coincidence

when you looking at industry/troop/resource pool screen, you have some nice colums - in pool, used so far, produced this turn/month and finaly build rate.
But it is posible to add new collum ? used this month ? it will help to keep eye on monthly loses of planes and resorces used for production.
I know we have tracker, but this will be very intuitive and will help to keep a track.

I presently have two games going: one that's in May of 43 and another that is a BigBabes Mod C (I think) with extended map that's in March of 42. Both are using the Beta Patch though with different versions (version 1123r with one and version 1123x4 with the other). In any case my BB opp wanted to update to the latest Beta Patch (1123x8) so I downloaded and applied the update.
But it ended up becoming the version in my version 1123r instead of where it was intended to go. Repeated tries to get it install in the BigBabes Mod have met with no success.
In my computer I have the following directories:
1) C:\DABIGBABESMOD\War in the Pacific (version 1123x4 right now)
2) C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific (version 1123x8 or 1123r depending on which update version I try to install)
I thought that if I directed the patch to the BigBabes directory that the update would do whatever it does in that directory only. Apparently not so (and it doesn't do it in that directory at all???).
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot...Over?

Assuming you installed beta into "C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific"; What you need to do is make a copy of the beta shortcut and change it to 'Start in' C:\DABIGBABESMOD\War in the Pacific but leave the Target as is.

RE: Patch 07 - Unofficial Public Beta - 1117 updated 22 September 2012
Thank Michael.
Each of the two directories has the Beta2 in it.
I looked at the "Properties" of the shortcut to the DABABESMODS directory. It started at C:\DABABESMOD\WitPAE and targeted C:\DABABESMODS\WitpAE\autorun.exe.
Having no faith in my understanding of any of this I:
1) took out the autorun.exe in the target line which had the effect of completely inactivating the shortcut [Error:can not find data file].
2) put \autorun.exe back into the target line which seemed to do nothing to change #1
3)reran the Beta setup for the update which had no effect in the DABABESMODS directory but does update the game in the Matrix Games\WitPAE directory (???)

Targeted should not be autorun.exe, but the game exe. The Beta shortcuts don't reference the autorun.exe

one small idea - when you manualy request extra plane add to current sytem with 1 (left) click = 1 plane add posibility with right click = max posible planes (doesnt matter if 2 or 12 posible
).
no big deal but it will save a few of clicks.

Not sure if this is where it should go or if it's been asked before but would it be possible to add feature on the base listing screen where you can select only those countries you want similar to the way the land/air/ships screens are? That way if you only want a certain country's bases to do something you can instead of all bases or have to go to each base 1 by 1
