Another Question About Pirates

I am on my second game since purchasing Universe. I have been playing a standard empire in the classic start. The
pirates are irritating at first but eventually they quiet down. Is there any way to completely eliminate a pirate
faction? At this point in my current game they no longer attack but it seems like all of them are still on the
diplomacy screen. How would you go about completely eliminating one pirate faction? (Yes Grim Marauders I'm
talking about you.)

All you have to do is destroy all their spaceports.

Or you can use an intelligence agent with high psy ops skill to force a mid life crisis on the pirate leader. Existential torment -> faction disbanded.

You can select "pirates do not respawn" option in the menu when making your map. That will stop them completely.
