[1.9.5.2] Graphical error from game start

Since the game downloaded the latest update I have been experiencing a graphical error from the game's launch (see attached image - I can provide more examples if needs be). This error effectively makes the game unplayable, as previous windows 'layer' into each other, and there is a lot of 'flickering' effects.

To be clear I have not experienced this error at all in the week since I bought the game off Steam. It is only since the 1.9.5.2 update was applied that I've been experiencing this, which is a real shame as I have greatly enjoyed DW since purchasing it. I am now, however, unable to continue enjoying it.

Thanks for responding. I tried installing the driver updates from the site you linked to but the problem remains with no change.

I too have this problem.
I use Windows XP, have a new GrafixDriver (Geforce 770) and got the Problems. With Shadows it is no Problem, tha works.
Now I assume that again some of these Windows Net things mess something up.
Maybe we have to reinstall the Windows media Player or something?!

Right now I am reinstalling Universe and try it without the patch. I say yes, and rerun the Install routine for the new XNA and .NETn additions that always check themselfe and ask if I want to reinstall/repair. Hahaha. Ok, then reinstall/check the install and phone home to bill, okok.

If it works there without a new Graficcard driver, do not tell me the newest Patch is optimized for the brand new driver from NVidia and ATI/AMD.

Then I will run the patch and say yes to the 4 install routines .NET 3.5, .NET 4.0, XNA and DirectX
and then, I say yes, repair, and 3.5 .NET is downloading 64MB of stuff.
After this, .NET Framework wants to restart. No other installer ist starting up...
But anyway, 1.: i have to stop testing here, have to go to bed.
2.: all the others are installed before..
so i press next at the DW setup.
i press next again.. nothing happens....
therefore i KILL the 3.5 process..
the window from the .NET framework SSP1-Setup ist still open, but now .NET Framework 4 is repairing...
then checking direct X.. then there is it complete.
checking XNA, done.
i click finish from the DW setup.
UH, then there is still a XNA framework redistributable 4.0 setup window active. i install it...
finish that..
i start DW universe and ...
ITS BROKEN AGAIN!

Thanks for the report. This issue (which only affects some Windows XP machines) is fixed in the next update (1.9.5.3)
