Lustin' for some planet kersploding... but nothing :(

Post by ParagonExile »

Hey guys.

Bought universe a few days ago, and I've already put a hundred hours in. My neckbeard has reached the floor and my fedora is firmly on my head, but I'm having a problem.

I've searched the Galactopedia, the internet and these forums, but there's no mention of how to get the planet buster weaponry seen in the intro. I know it's in the game, but I've been unable to unlock them. Are they unlocked through some story mission? Through exploration? Randomly?

Thanks [:)]

Explore the galaxy. A planet destroyer usually spawns as a wreck.

Bring a fleet with you to guard it when you repair it [;)]

The extended mod and my own mod (signature but with that you need a long time to get to them) make them researchable in a normal game.

The ancient storyline should have them in the research tree as well.

If you find one and repair it (depends on game start settings), it also takes a long time to finish.

It takes 10-15 years to repair a world destroyer, be prepared for a LONG wait...

And build a refueling place nearby, too. If your construction ship leaves to refuel, another civ might come along and snatch it up, leaving you no choice but to attack (which may or may not trigger a war - usually blowing up one of their construction ships doesn't anger a friendly civ enough for them to declare war on you. BUT ... your ships might begin attacking their ships if and when they enter the system which isn't good - unless you WANT a war.)
