No Map

When I start a scenario or a saved game, I do not get a map. All that comes up is three windows: SL. MV and on: "World in Flames... followed by a directory. It has the command line. I read a thread on Saturday that had a similar problem and clicked around and map finally came up so I can play abut I cannot remember what I did.

Sounds like your directory structure got messed up. You may have to re-install the game.

Thanks but that is not the problem. Once the game starts I have to go to command line, click "Window," then "New Detailed Map" in order to bring up the map. Then I can play. It took me a bit to remember that. But it seems I should be able to set it so the map comes up on start up, eh?

Did you save the Screen Layout after closing the Detailed Map Window, possibly? Next time you restore and get the map window back, then do a "Redefine Screen Layout" and see if that solves the issue.

No, I did not save the Screen Layout; I had no clue to do so. I will try it next time. Thanks.

BTW, I just finished my second turn of Barbarossa; this game is enjoyable but there is much yet to learn. [X(]
