DB 3000 / Game Version Number Q

Currently using V 1.03 (I think) of the game as a noob. As the game versions update their way along, (as simply a player of the game,) do I need to concern myself with what version the DB is? Is this a scenario editor/developer concern only? I guess my presumption was that if I simply updated the game to the latest (non-Beta) version, the DB was not a concern to me. Is that correct or no? (Sorry if this is a dumb Q)

Scen authors often use the very latest public version when building (or re-building) their scenarios in order to exploit new modeled systems, new functionality etc.

Unfortunately for players who stick to official releases only (such as v1.03 currently) this can present an issue, as their version cannot find the newer DB version requested by the scenario.

We are aware of this problem and are currently testing a solution for this. The idea being that the program will actively check for the non-existence of the requested DB and inform the player that he has to update to the latest public version if he wishes to use that scenario.

We plan (and hope) to introduce this solution on the final version of v1.04.
