Free Ghost Convoy

Post by Jaimainsoyyo »

I haven´t deployed any convoy in Bay of Biscay, however it seems that the program computed one valid route to UK´s factory that cross Bay of Biscay.[:-]

Hmmm. You are looking at the 'Computed' route. Perhaps the Override route has the correct path that the program used? The destination is colored green, which means the override route is being used. But the Computed route should match, since the Recompute button is disabled.

Is the program using a French convoy in the Bay of Biscay (I don't think it should)?

Actually, I would be a lot happier if the Commonwealth weren't neutral. I understand the need to position convoys at sea during setup for the soon-to-be-at-war Commonwealth and France. And I understand that players during setup would like to have the routes all worked out and confirmed as sending resources to where they want them. But the WIF rules restrict the use of other major powers' convoys while neutral (if I remember correctly) and the saving of oil is also limited to 1 per turn. That makes the Production Planning form's report out-of-sync with what the players want/expect it to show. The program follows the rules - rather blindly in some cases, such as this.

If I was happy with my convoy positioning, I wouldn't be terribly concerned about the preliminary planning - as long as I had an opportunity to fix it, before final production in that turn.

1º Override displays no rute at all
2º France is not deployed yet

Definitely wrong then in how it displays the route - or rather doesn't display it.

I have fixed a couple similar problems yesterday and today. If someone has a saved game for the problem reported in this thread, I would like to have it, so I can see if my recent changes have fixed it (or not).
