What's the inside joke about the Wessel?

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, the one where they travel to the past to get a pair of whales. Commander Pavel Chekov was asking everyone with a VERY Russian accent: "Where are the nuclear wessels?"

[Dialog over com devices]
Chekov: Admiral. We have found the nuclear wessel.
Kirk: Well done, Team two.
Chekov: And Admiral... it is the *Enterprise*.
[Kirk and Spock look at each other]
Kirk: Understood.

DOCUP and GP: Be prepared to take a look once we get this show on the road and complete. Need to people to look and see if there are issues that Michael and I miss.
Kitakami: Are you available?

I have a couple of trips planned, but as long as I can get the stuff before I leave, I will gladly take a look at Japanese planes and the DNTK and its nuclear wessels :)

Yeah. This was my mothers favorite star trek movie. She always love the whales. In fact, we sprinkled her ashes out at sea on a whale watch with some humpback whales. RIP MOM.

Two pieces of GOOD news:

1. Juan will Post some ideas for the BCs here later today. ENJOY!
2. JWE has uploaded the OOB changes detailed earlier so the Allied player shall have a different look to Aussie, NZ, and Phil troops. Should be COOL.

Thanks Juan and John. We truly appreciate the hard work and continued support.

Just a LITTLE.[:D][:D][:D]
Although I am Testing a Distant Worlds Universe update at the moment, So the star trek stuff is relevant for me at the moment. DW is sort of like WITPAE. Just takes place in space.

Here are some details on what I've proposed for the designs.

Amagi
Laid down 1920, launched 1923, completed and in service 1924/25.

As completed;
Length 251.8m (826ft) waterline, Beam 30.8m (101ft), Draft 9.5m (31ft)
Displacement 42,700 tons standard, 48,100 tons full load
Weapons
5 two-gun 40cm/45 turrets with two forward, three aft (90 rounds per gun, maximum elevation 30 degrees)
16 casemated 14cm/50s at main deck height
4 high-angle 12cm/45s in the superstructure
8 above water 610mm torpedo tubes on the beam
Protection
254mm main belt (inclined 12.5 degrees), 229mm end belt aft
89mm main deck, 38mm splinter deck
356mm turret faces, 203mm sides/rears, 190mm crowns, 280mm barbettes
152mm casemate protection
Propulsion
Powerplant giving 131,000 horsepower for 29.3 knots (mixed coal/oil)
Range of 8600nm at 14 knots
Bunkerage of 3900 tons of fuel oil and 2500 tons of coal

This class receives a fairly thorough modernization in the early 1930s, along the lines of the Nagato and Kongo. This sees the removal of the torpedo tubes, an increase in gun elevation, a reboilering of the powerplant to oil firing, the addition of an larger bulge for torpedo defence and stability, installation of a catapult and crane for floatplane operation, and the installation of more high-angle guns. These upgrades take place between 1933 and 1936 one ship at a time, and as they do not involve extensive structural modifications like the Nagato or Kongo, are fairly easy to do.

At the beginning of the war;
Length 251.8m (826ft) waterline, Beam 30.8m (101ft) with 33m (108ft) bulges, Draft 9.5m (31ft)
Displacement 47,700 tons standard, 53,800 tons full load
Weapons
5 two-gun 40cm/45 turrets with two forward, three aft (90 rounds per gun, maximum elevation 43 degrees)
16 casemated 14cm/50s at main deck height
6 twin 12.7cm/40s in the superstructure
Some 25mm AA
Protection
254mm main belt (inclined 12.5 degrees), 229mm end belt aft
102-140mm main deck, 38mm splinter deck, 38mm upper deck
356mm turret faces, 203mm sides/rears, 190mm crowns, 280mm barbettes
152mm casemate protection
Propulsion
Powerplant giving 153,000 horsepower for 29.9 knots (oil firing)
Range of 8960nm at 16 knots
Bunkerage of 6090 tons of fuel oil

Will cover Lexington in the next post.
