Solitaire: Strange bug after conquest phase

As I finalized production, the US national anthem started playing, as the US had elected to occupy Greenland and Iceland. Then this happened, and it never progressed from that.





Reloading the autosave for the conquest phase prevented me from proceeding, but I could scroll the map. Finally, I right clicked the WIF icon in my task bar and selected "close window". Then suddenly the game started working again.

Sounds like loss of focus on the game window led to the assumption the game was not responding.

I just had a case where a failed naval interception left me in limbo. I'd saved the game after doing some production tasks, and noticed I had no green button to end the phase. But exiting [without saving yet again] and reloading the game settled the matter.
