The Japans: The air drops at Fuk-u-jima and Tokaro Retto succeed. Some of our dive bombers get baited into an attack by Shanghai and 4 are lost to the Tojos.

With an operating AF at Fuk-u-jima we should probably just land on Kyushu. 100 P-47's and Corsairs and F6F's flying LRCAP could cover a landing at Kumamoto.

Of course, we don't know what the garrison is.

Within 4 days, the garrison on Kumamoto will most of the available land forces in the island chain that get railed in. You'd better come in overwhelming strength...

Some guy "driving" up the street with a brand new white/red trim Porsche. I think it's a 911S turbo but it has some serious ghetto-looking downforce air foil thingy on the stern. It still has dealer stickers "Needlessly Pricey Imports".
He has stalled it twice. I think it's n 3rd gear. I don't think you get much turbo boost at 800 RPM's. And the downforce at 3 1/2 MPH is not very strong.

So I go to the bank and it is actually open..so I go in. The are two open tellers, an earnest Hispanic young man and a really cute Hispanic young woman who looks like Shakira.

Need I say more? It's perfect, they are trained to be polite so you can flirt with relative impunity. She laughs at my jokes..I laugh at hers..it was fun and harmless..then I go to sign the check and she turns bright red.
Damndest thing. Poor thing, probably overwhelmed by the GQ looks, the urbanity and the account balance. We conclude the transaction and I thank her and wish her a good day...better get out before she faints.

Then, as I am walking away, I go to put the pen back in my pocket. It's a hideous triangular drug company advertising pens with big block letters on one side saying:

BV BACTERIAL VAGINOSIS

Reminds me of the time I was proudly wearing the nifty new golf shirt, donated by Manitoba Telecomm Systems, I won in a work tournament (in which virtually everyone won something).
I was at a conference in Quebec City and after hours was out with the local manager for dinner and pub visits. I kept getting strange looks and
smirks from the many sexy young ladies in the area. I asked my host what was going on, and he explained with a little grin that the logo MTS on my shirt stands for something in French:

How about Takamatsu to Kobe? Is that walkable. The Fx keys don't work in AE for me (I think I am not in full screen mode)
Use the "R" button to see road and rail links. Takamatsu - Kobe has no link. Only Jesus gets to walk it, and I think he has better
things to do.
Takamatsu - Okayama or Fukuyama is walkable, or strat move if your units have vehicles and own both ends of the link.

There is a rail link from Fukuoka to Shimonoseki, but it is not direct. You have to go through the hex southeast of Fukuoka. Because
it is only a rail bridge link, crossing is very slow - something like two or four miles a day progress. I'm pretty sure it would be a
shock attack on arrival at the other end of the bridge.

Thanks for the primer. That settles it. Shikoka is a terrible place to land. Kyushu it it.

It will take 2 1/2 weeks of game time to prep for Kumamoto..that's about 4 months of Earth time. [:D]

I wonder if we put our 3 extant para Bn in one drop if they could take it?

Then, the heavy stuff lands the next turn with no disablement?

****************Aboard USS Puffer, 60nm SW Tanegashima**********

<Captain's Cabin...knock at the door>

LCdr, Jensen, CO ENTER....<looks up>...Ah, Parker, Chief said you wanted to see me. What is this about?

Torpedoman 1st Class Parker: Sir...I...I wanted to request a.....a...transfer sir.

LCdr, Jensen, CO A transfer? Good Lord, why, son? The Chief says you are one of his best. Are you not happy aboard Puffer?

Torpedoman 1st Class Parker: Oh, yes sir! I love the men and the boat sir. I'm proud to serve aboard her sir. It's just that..when we go back to Naha the other crews...well....they mock me sir.

LCdr, Jensen, CO Mock you? About what?

Torpedoman 1st Class Parker: I'd...rather not say sir.

LCdr, Jensen, CO Well, you'll need a better explanation than that for me to give up an experienced hand. <he studies the sailor who looks at the deck> Parker, what is your first name?

Torpedoman 1st Class Parker: Puh-puh-Peter, sir.

LCdr, Jensen, CO Hmmmmmmmmm <rubs face with both hands> yes, I see. Reluctantly, I will approve the transfer, son.

SG I: Dryer's broken again. Had a load in for 3 hrs.[:-][:@]

<Time out. First of all it probably isn't broken and secondly, if it isn't working after the first couple of hours perhaps a change of plan is required>

FAM: OK, does it have power?

SG I: How do you tell that? [8|]

FAM: Is the drum turning?

SG I: Yes.

FAM: Good. Is the gas on?

SG I: How do you tell that? [8|]

FAM: Is there heat. The heat comes from the gas.

SG I: Oh, yes.

FAM: OK, so the exhaust line or lint trap is obstructed. Did you clean the lint trap?

SG I: Where is that? [:@]

[FAM: The little screen inside the dryer.

SG I: Oh, yeah.

FAM: Right, then check the exhaust port on the side of the house. Free up the little louvre flaps and remove any lint.

SG I: Where is that?

Anyway. You get the point. Turns out SG II has been doing the same thing. I go downstairs and there is a freaking K2 of laundry piled up with stuff laid out on the ******* pool table to dry.
[:@][:@] They have been fighting over taking each other's stuff out of the dryer "before it's dry". DUH! FIX THE ******* THING!

Here is my point. Was anyone here that helpless when you were 21 and 25? It doesn't have twin carburetors. It's a ******* dryer! Just clean out he damn hose!

Also, do you really need college physics to understand the concept of humidity?
