Foreign Troop Commitment

I recently had Gort and two corps in France. When the Axis attacked Belgium the two corps moved into Belgium and I was able to them bring two more units into France with Gort.

The Germans attacked and retreated the two UK units in Belgium back into France and I had to destroy two full corps?

Is this correct?

Rather unrealistic?

Realistic or no, it is nevertheless correct.
