Winterized units.

Post by Viktor_Kormel_slith »

I got 3 issues about this:

First: comunist chinese elite units are not winterizable units but the program allows to use it like that.

Second: Using 2d10 combat chart every attacking winter unit adds +1 and every defending winter unit -2. The program add what it want[:@]...sometimes nothing, sometimes something, I can´t understand. I show a picture for example.

Third: Is a questión not a report, using 2d10.is there a limit to adding factors when you use winterized units? IMO ther is no sense to get better odds in bad weather than fine weather but I don´t found any word about this in rules. Using 1d10 the rule is clear, reducing adversed odds, you never got better odds than a clear weather but in 2d10..in my example germans get +6 an russians -2 but if russian unit were non elite, germans would get + 6 is this possible?

Thank you

Mods are halved across a river so the 8-4 SS mountain unit only gives a plus point 5. (All mods except HQ support are affected by terrain.)

So -4 winter, -2 winterized unit, + 2.5 mountain units totals to -3.5.

Yes you can net out to better odds than clear weather. Also, in clear terrain in winter, if half or more attackers are winterized, you can negate the extra loss. Sometimes it is forgotten that the extra loss would still apply even when half or more attackers are winterized, because case (b) or (d) in the notes on the 2D10 chart might also apply.

Sorry but I don´t understand even with halved mods there is 6 germans winter units... the two mountains adds +2, the SS 0.5 x 4 = 2 so -4 -2 + 4 = -2 if I understand the rule as you said.

In the original 2D10, SS units were winterized. It was changed many, many years ago. They are no longer winterized.

I see, I don´t like the change but then the mods ar ok in my example. A big problem because in our game we changed the dice rolls to adjust it what we thougt was not right.. my russian friend is going to kill me when I said to him. Many years ago...[X(]...I´m afraid that the physical chart that we used is from that time, like we are...2002 copyrigth![:'(]
