New Quad-Core PC, Poor Preformance

Post by chazz »

Just bought a new PC; quad core processor at 3.4 ghz (4), NVIDIA Gforce GTX 770.

Installed and updated with the patch, and boy was it slow- lag-gy in the extreme, map scrolling bad etc etc.

Anyway, I noticed that it is lightning fast in windowed mode. Looking to meet the game halfway. My monitor is 20".

Any advice?

This question seems to come up every time someone gets a new computer. Multi-core computers and some video cards have some problems with some of the DirectX calls used by the game. It results in long delays and each computer's problems are a bit different.

Here is the most recent thread:

I need to make a sticky for this...

I have a quad-core as well. The "-dd_sw" kills the screen. I can hear the opening sounds but screen is dark.
