No sub kills
After all that talk, the last two turns have been no ships hit or sunk by torps, 1 sub sunk and three subs damaged.
Oh well!

RE: Naval Losses and Allied Fleet Size Overview
The campaign has been bitterly contested below is a simple chart of allied naval losses to date
Given that there are about three times as many Japanese ship loss points, is there anything significant left of the IJN?
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?

RE: Naval Losses and Allied Fleet Size Overview
We cranked the and empire economy as a part of this scenario mod to facilitate up to double the number of certain hull types.
Although the empire has lost about 22 CV / CVL / CVE platforms and another 8 BB's, the chart below highlights the potential builds on the empire tracks
Since the empire economy is significantly expanded too, my esteemed co-tester and opponent made decisions what combination of potential builds
to make.
While he is very unlikely to have maximum CV platforms available, I estimate there are about 10 CV platforms 6-8 BB and 25-30 total cruisers left in his fleet

RE: Naval Losses and Allied Fleet Size Overview
At this point he has one major counterpulse left in his fleet. Not really sure where he will expend his fleet, but I am guessing it wont be when I invade Oz. Prob at Luzon is my guess.
I expect him to very effectively use kami's so this thing is far from over, even if the bulk of CV combat is passed (4 major CV battles with 11 total allied CV platforms lost)

Nov 9, 1944 - long sub drout
Hard to believe but three days since last sub sinking. have to start worrying the empire has changed his cargo and fuel routes again.
I will have to redeploy subs out in front of Japan. As stated before the empire E boats are absolute terrors of the ocean. I am going toe to toe with them in massed overlapping patrol zones. I seem to be about 1 to 1 in losses with e boats

PLanning For Oz Invasion
New Zealand is now in allied hands, even in one hex still has some empire units. I am aggregating the fleets, airpower, and assault troops mostly at Noumea. It may take up to 3 weeks to be ready to launch the invasion, which I expect will contain 10 divisions.
I am not thinking I am going for Brisbane, even if it is the logical attack point. The empire has taken that option away IMHO

RE: PLanning For Oz Invasion
Wow, this is a very interesting scenario. Kudos to you and Kamikaze-sensei for making the effort.
I presume you have gotten the extra reinforcements due from the Oz and NZ invasions. Are there any other LCU sweeteners for the Allies? Clearly you have lost a lot of ground power by the looks of the VP summary.
Also, any chance of showing us an IJN ship loss chart or two (at least CV and BB)?
Cheers,
CC

Extra reinforcements
Yup - got India, NZ and OZ extra reinforcements. Was none for Canada or alaska. They are material - proportional to the size of the owning country's military. I'd have to go back and check exacts, but India by far was the meaty one. Also were some air units and various extra replacement elements as I recall. they were material at the time, at least as much as the ground units. IIRC one of the Indian divisions has an explode date, but most are there for the duration.
The lesson I took away was that as empire if you activate India, which was new for me as allies, I'd have to think carefully how that would benefit you in the long run as empire. You really do stir the hornet's nest there. I don't think Oz or NZ are material enough to stop empire intentions, keeping in mind of course you can invade MW Oz without activating Oz reserves.
I know from prior play tests that empire mainland USA invasion advances US reinforcements, so you better be damn sure you want to do that before you start.

Much appreciated. And that must have been a whale of a fight at the beginning of Dec. '43.
But am I guessing correctly that the Musashi was given her death blow by an Alaska-class battle cruiser?

Empire wins sub war close into Japan
Admiral Nimitz grabbed the two page report from Captain Atkinson who was waving the report in his face. "I know you are busy sir, but you really need to read this report now.
The admiral flipped the page front and started aimlessly reading aloud. "November sub losses...11 subs lost this month and all within 100 miles of Japan! What the hell is going on?!" Nimitz pushed his chair out and stood up, almost choking on his cold tuna sandwich. "Inform all commands that such losses are not acceptable without superior damage on the enemy. I want Admiral Hall up in Adak in my office in 48 hours. Order all commands to avoid contact with the new Eboat patrols until further notice. Admiral Hall has much to explain!"

11 subs lost month to date within 3 hexes of Japan. That's the end of the close in sub war for now. I cant disengage fast enough.

Recap of major CV combat May 1+2, 1942 near JOhnston
Empire successfully counters my invasion attempt to retake Johnston. He intercepts my amphibs and sinks the whole task force. A major CV battle ensues that lasts a rare 2 days. 4 empire platforms are lost to none on US side. massed confusion ruled the battle. On first day only about half of aircraft on both sides launched, we believe due to weather.
I had a decision to make if to bail and leave my 3 CV cripples, or stick it out. I decided to withdrawal slowly towards Pearl, but get all the ships in one hex. The concentrated CV cap and 4E air on Johnston saved the day. Really was a pretty lucky allied outcome. I should not have engaged, but the enemy skillfully kept his CV's far enough west of JOhnston that I did not spot them until the first turn of the fight.

Wow - quite the bloodbath!
I have seen in several AARs how the weaker Allied CV force can match the Japanese when their strikes are split among
many juicy targets while the Allied ones are more concentrated. You were wise to put the old BBs with the carriers to
soak up bombs and torpedoes. [&o][&o][&o]
That loss of ground troops will set you back for some months though! [:(]
