Estab Editor -- Import Radios

Post by jimcarravall »

It has been my habit when compiling an Estab file to save the desired XML, and then create the COE file by first importing the XML to a "new" Estab, and after a message saying that the XML was successfully imported, compiling the new COE to overwrite the original.

In this manner, I receive messages pointing to Estab entries that have any anomalies in need of correction in the XML before the game Estab can be successfully corrected.

I note at the end of the import, that there is a line regarding "importing radios." However, I find nothing in the Estab Editor manual of the Game Manual which describe the impact on game design having radios (I've only seen listings vice specific platforms), or the significance of either cloning the existing radios or creating new versions (perhaps to mimic late term hand portable units).

Am I missing something regarding a documented description of communications utilities?

If so, I'd like some help in finding that information.

If it's a legacy or a stub that needs refinement as CO transitions to CO2, I'd like to participate in the effort.

Take care,

jim

When we started the initial design we planned to model specific capabilities of radios but in the end opted to abstract this aspect. It was one of many such decisions. You can safely ignore those references.
