Meanwhile, the German Stukas make mincemeat of the yugoslavian garrison in Belgrade.

In South China, the Japanese use the good weather to move behind some Chinese troops and to destroy a cavalry corps. A pincer is closing on Changsa while Fukien is almost fully Japanese controlled: the objective of capturing Changsa and Hiensin within the year seems accessible.

And the battle clearly ends up in an Italian victory.

Belgrade resists the German assault, thanks to the weather.
But it won't hold long!

RE: My second AAR (again)
What happened during the Allied impulse? There's the Axis impulse where they destroy the forces guarding the approaches to Belgrade, and the impulse with the attack on Belgrade.

In Egypt, Wavell once more takes risks in order to get rid of the pesky Italian threat.
He succeeds, which should let him move more freely now.
By the way, the shot was lucky, and the choice to use HQ support welcome! With one less or one more, Wavell was lost!

Actually not much! Which is why I did not really mention it.
The Commonwealth took a naval to cover the sea lanes and shuffle convoys around, the Fre French or USA have little to do ; China moved some units around, but there is little it can do with so few and so weak units. And the USSR is stuck in the Persian mountains by the bad weather... That's why I did not bother much!
Even the axis do little in their own impulse, thanks to the poor weather: as for the allies, they are hard pressed for moving units around. Germany mostly repositionned some troops to attack Belgrade. Germany could have taken a combined, but sending subs during a storm didn't feel that useful.
In the next impulse, the weather is again awful, and the only significant allied action happens in Egypt, where Wavell gets rid of the last Italian units. The Russians are still stuck in the mountains... Persia will likely not be conquered this turn!
RE: My second AAR (again)
Even though the weather is rather bad, the turn lasts.
Germany decides to take a naval and relocate its fleet in France.
The end of turn is likely (60%) which means that the British Fleet might be unable to intercept. One itch however : due to the early loss of the engineer unit, no major port is going to be repaired soon...
It also sorties its subs.
While the search fails in the North Atlantic, it succeeds in the Bay of Biscay.
The search succeeds in the East Coast, but I cancel it because the option 20, already chosen by the US, doesn't seem to work and there are US planes protecting convoys.

The USA are in a dire straight as despite picking as many options as possible, the tension level doesn't increase! At best, the first gear up will happen in two turns!

RE: My second AAR (again)
I also note a bug : Free France has been sending a resource to China from Hanoï.
There is a direct railway line from Hanoï to Kunming which is idle.
But the resource fails to reach the factory.
This is not even related to the Burma road because it is open...
So China is cheated and I will have to close the Burma road to at least restore some logic.

I have successfully sent the Hanoi resource to Kunming. Please post a save to the Tech Support section, because this should work.
I thought I knew how to play this game....
RE: My second AAR (again)
The losses for the turn.
This does not account for the damaged ships.
The turn was bad for Italy which lost more that 17BP that turn ; about three production turns.
Germany lost more than expected too, 11BP ; that's about 40% of one production turn. The failure to capture Belgrade was a setback. There still are not enough units to prosecute a war in Spain without these units from Yugoslavia. However, Italy's production should improve once Tugoslavia is tamed.
The Commonwealth also lost about 16BP ; that's about 60% of its production. That's a lot, but considering it is supporting the full weight of the war, it doesn't amount to that much and would be very happy to keep losses at that level for the following turns!
Overall, the Axis lost more than the allies, which is not good news for it. This is especially true as the axis did not achieve anything significant that turn, failing to settle in Egypt.

The reinforcements for the summer 41.
The British timing is perfect. With two more infantry corps and an armored corps, the german are likely to be held in check should they try to invade.
This means that the margin of progression is now low for the western axis powers: having failed in Egypt, being probably unable to reach Britain, what remains ? Intensive sub-warfare ? But this hardly makes a strategy of itself!
Hopefully, nationalist China receives two additional infantries (not shown) which will be extremely useful to protect against the Japanese in the South. Meanwhile, the north looks locked! The Japanese are content, and the Chinese don't dare to attack.

RE: My second AAR (again)
The Axis either need to get it done in Spain & Gibraltar (and get back into it in Egypt) or launch some kind of successful Sealion (not necessarily ending in conquest as long as it cripples CW production for some time) or get paved over after spinning its wheels through 1941.
For all the US' tension problems, it can cause problems for Japan by saving up and passing option 36 (CW reinforces Pacific). This allows the CW to reinforce Rabaul (if it has the land units), and ratchets up tension.
Alternately, since the US tension problem is vs. Germany, it should pass the Resources & Lend-Lease to USSR options. Those are high tension.
