My second AAR (again)

Nobody wants to leave ; the commonwealth cannot afford it, and Germany is here to fight.
It finds the convoy lanes...

and manage to avoid the land based Vildebeast. The British escorts suffer.

And the german fleet is still mostly unscathed.

The British have now lost most of their protection. They prey for an end of this encounter...
Bt are not heard.

This time, convoys get destroyed while the last escort goes to the bottom...

But not without forcing a German ship to abort.

The German fleet is still impressive.
It stays to raid the now unprotected convoys.
But it is instead chased by bombers.

The Bismarck has to get back and another ship is damaged.

[yvesp]

However, the German fleet can still inflict some serious damage.
It decides to stay.

An Harrow squadron, patrolling the area locates once more the fleet which seems to have lost the convoy lanes.

Some German ships will again have to abort.

After this last encounter, the fleets failed to meet again.

The British held, but the cost was steep!

In Cape St Vincent, deserted by the planes which were sent in the Mediterranean, a German sub squadron is found by some patrolling ships.

It is destroyed mercilessly.

while barely touching the Commonwealth ships.

[yvesp]

In the North Atlantic, the Sunderlands keep good watch.

And sting away the subs.

[yvesp]

And the gamble was good.
This will also let the German pull back their own fleet without any interference from the remaining commonwealth ships in port.

The losses at the end of the turn are rather bad for Germany, thanks to these poor die rolls.
In addition, there are at least three BP not shown which will be required to repair the damaged ships and subs.
So the total is at least 26BP, and most of Germany's production will have to be used to replace the turn losses.

The Commonwealth losses are not correctly shown either. 7BP for the sunk ships, plus 4BP for the sunk convoys, plus 4BP in lost production, plus at least 3BP in naval repairs. That's about 18BP to recover.

The Commonwealth comes out as the victor of that turn. However, it clearly is the loser of the naval engagements that happened, having lost everything there, while Germany lost only 5BP in ships and subs.

The US chose to sent resources to the allies and are now able to reloocate the fleet to Pearl Harbour. They will gear up in the next turn, and possibly again the turn after. But they are not yet at war!

Sill, it is time for the Japanese to get wary if they don't want to get caught by a US war declaration.

Did the CW manage to get four corps/HQ into Spain? If they do so before Spain surrenders, there is a very good chance of another US entry chit.

Alas no.
The End of Turn prevented the move of the Gibraltar corps...

The September reinforcements are strong for Germany.

However, the axis fails to get initiative, even after reroll.

These are very bad news, as this will give time to the Commonwealth for reinforcing the Spanish border which might otherwise have broken on a first impulse attack.

The Russian reinforcements also begin to be annoyingly large,with nothing to check them!
Most of them go west, proving that the previous turn emergency rail movement of idle Japanese corps from china to Mandchouria may have deterred the Russian. Another aspect is that with so few moves available every impulse, Russia cannot really do everything it would!

On good news for the axis though: both marines are available again, even though it will take one more turn for the german marine to be in position.
