Scen Maker?

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

Scen Maker?

Post by Deathtreader »

Hi,

Just tripped over something I find very strange... In one user generated scenario (Pont-a-Mousson Bridgehead) that has been updated to .279 the game will not allow me to place waypoints for any order. Move, attack etc. will not allow placing of waypoints. No error messages or anything like that happen -- and appears to play normally in every other respect.Weird.
I've tried lots of other scenarios before and after a full restart and they all work fine....just the above noted scenario seems to be affected.I deleted the scen file and reinstalled it and then opened and saved in .279 again. And again, that 1 scenario will not allow me to place waypoints, but plays normally otherwise.

What might cause that?? Some obscure setting in scen maker??

Maybe a corrupted file?

Rob.[&:]
So we're at war with the Russkies eh?? I suppose we really ought to invade or something. (Lonnnng pause while studying the map)
Hmmmm... big place ain't it??

I remember a bug once that made that happen if you placed an arty barrage as your first order, before anything else. I think it was fixed though.

I couldn't recreate the problem playing the scenario as Axis in my 4.6.279 install (on a Win 7 machine).

Did get a CTD when I tried to exit to reopen as allies, so I recompiled the Pont-a-Mousson Bridgehead.cop map using MapMaker and overwrote the original file. It loaded more quickly the next time I opened it with the game software, and allowed me to use waypoints.
Take care,

jim

Thanks guys!

Took both of your advice. Guess what? I had been plotting arty missions first off in this particular scenario. Guess that bug is still alive and kicking..
As soon as I tried something else first I was able to place waypoints again.
Recompiling the map cache does speed everything up so thanks for that tip as well.

Rob.
