just got civil war ii!! try too to run it on win8.1 and win 7 and the same error on the two of then
(critical Error : profiler . d log : error accessing file. sorry, the application will quit) and to run it under administrator with same going on

p.s there are two dir of the of the game the on the hard drive !!

just adding some more info for you. running ver 1.04 turn off anti vir software

Did you try to start it by clicking on the shortcut on your desktop?
Seem to recall I had some issue with the shortcut, but got it working by clicking the exe file itself in the game folder.

I have go ,trying to start for it's dir's , window , ironcom sometime it's run's one turn and to end as long don't make big battle!!

no but did download and had some headase get the game to work sometimes

Probably the issue might be related.
With Steam version I suggest that you, install the game in a different folder than C:\Program Files (x86)\...... You could, for example, install it in a folder like C:\Games\....
.

In case of AGEOD\Matrix|Slitherine version you should check if the Turn Compression is enabled in the game options menu and delete a file named "userpath.ini" in the game main folder.

this not a steam version but I uninstall the game total and install it again, the headase came back next install the update and it run so far. do I install the update in order
or can just install the new ver of update (1.04)take care of run ver 1 of game with ver 1.02

You only need to install the last update as they are comprehensive. Don't forget to delete userpath.ini file and check if Turn Compression is disabled.
