HQ Icon changing after orders?

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

HQ Icon changing after orders?

Post by smithcorp »

Hi all - playing a PBEM and saw an unusual icon change and just wanted to check its not a bug (manual and searches didn't clarify).

I am playing Pied Piper as NATO and gave a hasty move order to HQ 1/4th Panzer Bn. The unit hasn't seen any action and is in good shape, unspotted, no casualties. The unit icon then changed from a tank icon to a MAN truck when I gave the order.

I get that the crunchies are jumping in their trucks for the move, but is there anything significant in the icon change for that unit?

As you pointed out, they got in trucks to move. That's the significance.

That appears to be normal. Normally if there are transport in a mixed unit, the silhouette on the unit icon will change to the primary transport. This tells you that the unit is in movement mode. It is odd for this unit. But that is the way the program works, it is not a bug.
