Your thoughts on the 2.04 Update

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

Finally got a chance to play 2.04. Good stuff. The ability to change unit posture after moving is a God-send. UI changes are nice. Currently scouring Google Images for UI pics. AI seems more agro and is quicker on their feet.

jds1978, the AI in the release is faster and meaner after Rob fixed a couple bugs that were making it replan its actions too quickly. That resulted in a slower less decisive AI action. The AI is now closer to the functionality we wanted from the start. Still some things to improve on as we look forward to 2.1 now.

Has there been a change in the willingness of infantry units to fight on "screen" posture? I seem to have a problem over the last few scenarios of instead of fighting and falling back in the face of tanks, infantry dismount, see enemy, remount vehicles and hasty move backwards without engaging. This results in a lot of kills for the enemy as instead of being in a firefight they are shooting unchallenged at retreating vehicles. Screen seemed to result in more resistance in previous version. Not that this may matter in 2.05 in any case...

See if the issue is still there once you play with the 2.05 patch. We did tweak a few parameters that should have units sitting a little longer when fighting.
