Question for Mad Russian

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

I have nothing but the utmost respect for the German people. I lived in the country for 3 years.

However, war is hell! And this campaign has a lot of little niggly parts to it. Where you are on the attack, oh wait, that was an hour ago, now we are desperately trying not to be wiped out, kind of battles. Because you are behind the lines you should expect the Soviets to react violently from any and all directions.

This is a culmination of the evolution of both the game and our expertise in playing it. [8D]

That's what you get for sticking to a "Forward Defense".

Unfortunately, for the West Germans at least, if they don't do a forward defense the country is overrun. This isn't Russia we are dealing with. West Germany is very narrow in places and can be overrun easily if NATO doesn't fight there. They would have had to do everything in their power to slow and stop the Warsaw Pact units at every opportunity. Or end up fighting in France and the Low Countries.
