Mega CV TF possibility

I discovered an gateway to uber TFs. Maybe some of you already new it. But its new to me. I wanted to share. It can be a reason for a new set of House rules.

If you create an escort TF. you can fill it up to 100 ship. And if you put CVs inside. It automatically becomes Air combat TF. And it moves and attacks.

How about that :)

Yes but there will be a severe penalty in terms of coordination. not to mention the increased chances of ship collisions.


as per the manual:
The coordination of air strikes is affected by how many Carrier aircraft are based in the TF launching a strike. The chance of uncoordination is doubled under the following circumstances:
»» Allied TF in 1942 and the number of aircraft in the
TF is greater than 100 + rnd (100).
»» Allied TF in 1943 and the number of aircraft in the
TF is greater than 150 + rnd (150).
»» Allied TF in 1944 or later or a Japanese TF at any time and the
number of aircraft in the TF is greater than 200 + rnd (200).

Well my friend whatever the manual says. In 3 trials I was able to lift 1000 plane out of 1400 as a strike package. Opposing allied Mega CV TF.

With high enough Air skills on leaders, I've found the coordination penalty to be nearly unnoticable. Talking 65+ Air skill here on everybody.

But a normal size strike is going to accomplish 80% of that huge strike anyway, so why combine all of your hammers into one hammer that's 25% larger? Wasteful, even for the Allies!

THREE CHEERS FOR GAMES!!!! Why don't they show Washington on the map? We really need a place for Allied Players to be beheaded following their surrender.

Waste of resources.

Also, if you need a HR for something like that you are playing the wrong opponent.

Removes lot of fun from CV battles. Nothing make You adrenaline go up like moment when Your multiple CV TFs start reacting or not toward enemy and they all end in different hexes on morning.

Also game engine not working best with huge strikes and It kills tactic totaly. Side with bigger number of planes wins, end.

With multiple TFs You have reactions, weather in different hexes, Different DL for TFs in the same hex. Much, much funnier.

Well I have to agree that both imagination and spare time I had. The problem with me and some opponents is that we are very carefull to use CV forces which makes it difficult to have a lot of CV battles. Then only fun comes with sandbox CV duels for experimenting tactics and game mechanics.

The problem with me and some opponents is that we are very carefull to use CV forces which makes it difficult to have a lot of CV battles.

That is where the fun lies though! Deception and manvuevering to surpirse your enemy and hit his CVs while he is not expecting it, CVs are valuable and I feel this game portrays that well.

Sometimes a cat-and-mouse game can be mentally stimulating, not to mention prevent obesity in cats, saving mice from extinction and general preservation of the food chain.

Lots of collisions possible with a TF that large. Here's hoping a few CVs run into each other.

I could use some CV's colliding. Playing AI game and there's a Jap task force with 12 CV and 4 CVE hounding me everywhere I go.
