Victory in SPWAW

Post by Wild Bill »

I am posting this as a new post. It is also a reply to an earlier post. Pardon the duplication but I thought all readers might find it interesting.

===============

For those not familiar with the tally sheet at the end of a scenario or campaign, SP games give you totals. You can see how many units you lost and the enemy lost. You can open each side and further see the damage caused to each unit that survived.

The final score of points is given. A less than 3 to 1 victory is a draw. +3-1 is a minor victory. 8-1 and above is a decisive victory.

Points are attained by (1) gaining objectives, (2) enemy losses, and (3) your own losses (deducted). Thus you might take all objectives and still not get a decisive if you have suffered excessive losses to take them.

I find that the report is rather complete. What I want is to be able to open the map at the end and look over the battlefield in detail. Maybe I'll get it in a future patch. I'll try (G)!

My original quistion was slanted towards SP1 as I find the format more pleasing than sp2 & 3 . Sp2 recent changers have been more appealing, ww2.

I pleased to here that it has improved from the end game on sp1.

Speeking long term it would be nice to see some high score table still with set defaults to give you something to aim for, campaign high score I am refering to. I think some of this issue was obversly down to sp1 not so good AI and as such there tended to be an endless list of victories.

I agree. Its still not all I want it to be, but it serves the purpose for the moment. I still want that final map up to review. Win or lose, I like to survey my handiwork (G)...WB

One more suggestion to victory conditions for you guys to consider. Make balance between points awarded for occupiing goals and friendly/enemy losses adjustable on a per-scenario basis. This will make those "hold it at all cost!" scenarios feasible. Also, it will make "limit losses while holding enemy back" scenarios more interesting.
