It was good to see you and the entire crew. I deeply regret having to depart suddenly. My brother was feeling bad and I looked for a few minutes for the Mattix/SPWAW Warlords but could not find you. Thus, I was forced to depart. Sorry that I missed meeting Sven. My apologies!
WB,

No need for appologies - health conserns are rather more important. Hope he is well and better.

There will be other opertunities for a reunion. Then, we can make up for lost time.;)

Becides, we can still post and keep up the commo lines....

Likewise, Robot. Man, you have excellent taste in ladies! I congratulate you for such a fine wife, a War Widow with a good, loving support of her man. We should all be so fortunate!

That mystery SP arty named as Pzjg 33 looks like a Sd.Kfz.135/1 150mm SP gun built on a French 'Lorraine' chassis.

And that mystery AFV with arabic script hails from Turkey. Turret is built by company named FNSS and can be installed on various vehicles. Name's 'sharpshooter turret' :) And I think the rest of the vehicle comes from same company...found only few rather small pictures..

how to make big pix smaller

Post by bigtroutz »

how to make big pix smaller

1st get yourself a graphics manipulation program like irfanview, which is free ( www.irfanview.com )

2nd reduce the resolution

in irfanview press menu choice IMAGE>RESIZE>your choice(eg half) & repeat as desired >FILE>SAVE AS

the new file will be smaller in file size but some loss of detail will result. Reduce the size until you have the tradeoff between size and detail you desire. Usually you can get the file size well down from the scanned file size without significant loss of detail eg 1+ mb down to 2-300 K

good luck

Dang! Beat me to it again! :D

I was thinking along the lines of "sFH 18/1 auf Munitionsschlepper Lorraine (f)", but then I thought that the barrel looks a bit short for a sFH 18. :p

Even files in the 200-300k range can really slow down a forum load, especially those of us with dial-up connections, which is why I chose to use the link instead of displaying the pics. Why make it harder on someone who has already seen them all, but just wants to read new replies? And, while Irfanview is good, I like Comp-U-Pic Pro and PSP much better, but then I'm known to be a bit fussy about my software. :)
What, me worry?

IIRC, the barely readable sign in front of it said it was 10.5cm (105mm), and remembering back to when I was standing in front of it, that seems about right.

Quite possible. there was a 105mm variant also but I think it's gun had a muzzle brake. Or then not :)

...from my previous posting, I'll go with the 105mm. Looks to small for a 150. Still, it IS a Lorraine chassis, right? :)

Update: http://users.swing.be/tanks.tanks/complet/773.html

Looks like it really is the 150mm variant.

Good site, btw..worth bookmarking imho.
