Situation Report June 30th 1942.
Completely nothing interesting happen this turn.
So I will use this opportunity to provide some more inside about my plans.
Australia
Perth invasion was canceled three weeks ago when Jocke landed at Suva.
Invasion forces are unloading on Java and Sumatra right now.
South Pacific
I have 14th Army( 2 ID, Bde, 6 Arty, 2 Tanks Reg. ) ready for Nadi. However due poor result with shore bombardment I am think about cancel it either. I will decide tonight or tomorrow morning.
China
I am finishing his LCUs one by one but it seems it will take me at least 2 - 3 months before works done.
General strategic
It is June already time to think about defenses. I am planing similar solution to the one I had in my game vs GJ. Only difference that strategic reserve will be divided and placed in two location.
Plans is to have 3 - 4 Divisions, 4 - 8 Artillery Regiments, 200 - 300 Aviation Support with transport ships ready to load 1/2 reserve units in 1 - 2 days.
I have choose two location for those reserves, first is Davao ( used in game vs GJ ), second Singapore.
2 Divisions are already on ships moving to Singapore.
1 Division is already on Davao
Industry
I am surprise about shape of industry.
3069 oil centers are working right now.
Supplies production level 27K is very nice.
R&D
A6M3a & A6M5 are in production already. Rearming carriers right now.
Ki-45 KAIa in production already.
Ki-43-IIb will be ready for production at 7, 1942.
Ki-49b is in production already 2 days.

Hi Tom,
great match, as always!
Don't really know if I'd call those bombardments off so early at Suva.
We've been through the very same situation in our game at Horn Island and, after some time, you simply smashed the 40,000 allied that were defending it.
To achieve good bombardments run you should be able to recon it at 10/10 DL... do you have any close-by AF that can guest a KI-15 sentai? If so, there shouldnì't be a problem in smashing them out of that island...
What are your plans for the RnD?
I am pretty curious, given that we're now both playing with PDU OFF and am finding very difficult to modulate my Japanese economy to a decent RnD grand-scheme
where are you putting your efforts?

I had DL 10/10. With 200-300 casualties per day it would take me month to get Allied troops ready for landing. I do not have time to keep KB so long there
Now when auto victory is off table. I planning to intensify air war. Even if I loose 5 planes for one allied I will be happy. As you know he have limited numbers of Hurricanes, P-40 & P-39. Additionally I am working with Intel to convince Jocke that DEI is right place for landing. I like him to go there, I can delay him there for long time. I have 3 AF in Malaya already developed, 2 on Java, 2 on Sumatra. Aviation service is already there. In case any allied action I will have there 90 Betty, 90 Zeros, 120 Oscars and 90 Kates. Strategic reserve is just unloading in Singapore. Soon 1st Tank Div will move there too, ( need some PP to get 2nd Tank Div, but with time it will be there either).
Two Tojo Sentais are moving to Burma, it will be easy to move them back. Soon there will be 3 more (before end of '42).
About R&D. As usually I am developing mostly fighters. Plan is to have Franks as soon as possible, you should know what means Frank in my hand in 1943

Thanks for a fascinating and informative AAR. Especially interested as I'm also playing DBB Scenario 28 as Japan with SL and PDU off and just entering into Jan '42. I was under the impression that Japanese operations in China might be a bit curtailed due to the stacking limits but you have certainly laid that one to rest!
