When was this game released

Pride of Nations is a turn-based historical strategy game set in the colonial era of the 19th century, where the player takes control of a country and guides it through industrialization, military conquest, and colonization. This release from AGEOD follows such successful historical strategy games as Birth of America, American Civil War, Napoleon's Campaigns, Rise of Prussia and Wars in America.

It was first released by AGEOD when they were part of Paradox and Paradox would not allow Matrix to release it. As we acquired AGEOD this year we are now able to sell the game with all of its patches applied.

As far as I know all Ageod's games (apart from Birth of Rome) published thus far by MatrixGames are old titles. From wikipedia france you can have a complete list of the titles.

Ageod's games:
Birth of America (2006)
AGEOD's American Civil War (2007)
Les Campagnes de Napoléon (2007)
Birth of America 2: Wars in America (2008)
World War One : La Grande Guerre 14-18 (2008)
Rise of Prussia (2010)
Revolution Under Siege (2010)
Pride of Nations (2011)
Alea Jacta Est (2012)
Birth of Rome (2013)

New Ageod's Games[under development and not yet published]
Civil War 2 (2013)

To be more precise (according to wikipedia again) PoN was released on the 7th June 2011.

I hope that Iain McNeil could confirm this and, eventually, I suggest to correct the release date of (some) Ageod titles (for example Napoleon's Campaigns).

Best,

Luigi

Well, PoN should look old, but it is realy fun game. You have no need to feal "cheated" - all you got is 2 years of patches and 4 DLCs as extra compared to original relase date. So you should be happy :).

I don't judge the quality of the product. Many old games are in fact pretty good. It turns out that Pride of Nations (and Napoleon's Campaign) are (good) old games.

This information is not written on the Matrix webpage and this could be misleading to the customer. I strongly suggest Matrix games to correct these informations.

Best,

Luigi

P.s. the Napoleon's campaign case is slightly worse 'cause the title is more than 5 years old.

The dates we have are the date we released the game and this is what we've always done. However going forwards we are unlikely to have any games that are not exclusive so the release date we have will be the only one. Sorry for any confusion but it just keeps things simpler for us to track if we use our release date.

Thanks for the clarification. I still think it could be misleading and I guess that a brief statement in the description would not hurt.

To get this strait - Pride of Nations is an outstanding, a fantastic game (*theoretically).

Take you time and read the developer's diary.

Just had some update on steam, but can not figure out what it did.
