You do realize the game only goes until March of 1946?ORIGINAL: nashvillen
We have a function we are helping tear down for a non-profit with our scout troop at 1945, but I am just going to DVR the game from 1915 until I get back around 2045 and just skip through the commercials and the blah-blah between plays. Should be caught up by the end of the game. [:D]

RE: THE THREAD!!!
Dang, Seattle looks like they never slowed down from last year. They are gonna be hard to beat this time as well if they can keep it up.

Yeah, they looked sharp, didn't they? By the same token, Green Bay (particularly their offensive line) looked anemic. Sans Rogers, they're a step away from mediocrity.
Except for Cobb, that is. Stupid Cobb. Can you tell he was on my opponent's fantasy squad? [:D]

Good evening chaps [:)] I finally got in from the BBMF charity gala dinner at about 0230 this morning. I didn't even drink, well one g+t at 1900 and one bottle of beer dragged out over the next 6 hours, so that doesn't count.

G'day, Dixie. Excepting your 3-4 drink equivalent evening, I'm glad all worked out well. Pray thee provide us a tidbit of your discussion with the Lancaster experten?

There's a lot to tell about Jo Lancaster. Initially our intrepid aviator was dismissed from the pre-war RAF for low level messing about [:D] In total he carried out 54 ops on Wellingtons and Lancasters between 1941 and 43 with 40 Sqn (wellingtons) and 12 Sqn. He finished his first tour on 40 Sqn just before they went to Malta, so he avoided the Middle East. After his second tour he was meant to be posted to an OTU (Operational Training Unit) but his Wing Commander managed to keep him around the base instead, where he was a spare bod and gave advice to the new pilots and crews coming through. He said that his place as an OTU instructor was taken by another tour expired pilot from the squadron who was married with family near the OTU aerodrome. Unfortunately that chap was killed a few weeks later when his Wellington suffered an engine failure. Eventually Jo went to Boscombe Down where he did various testing on different aeroplanes. He was on the third course of the Empire Test Pilot School. After the war he flew even more aeroplane types, and was the first person to use an ejection seat from a British aeroplane in an emergency when he was flying an A.W.52 flying wing. He carried on flying well into the 1980s with various companies in different roles. He was heavily involved in survey work for the M-25 motorway around London, some of which included pottering around at 1500 feet in the approach to Gatwick airport which he described as interesting. He has spent more time in the air than most of the BBMF fleet (and more than a good part of it combined!) and his favourite aircraft to fly was the Meteor NF.14. Normally the veterans went back to a 'normal' civvy life, I like to ask because they're more than just someone who fought in a war, but Jo spent his entire working life involved with flying in some capacity.

I am mildly pleased this Monday morning with my Titans. They have tricked me before with an early season run of wins, but they looked good while doing it yesterday!
