No I don't think I did. Air to Sea factors are halved in rain. I think this is correct.

Amidst all that faffing about the CW have landed two corps on Sardinia - the 2nd British and the 4th Canadian.

The turn fails to end and the weather remains poor, although is now Rain in the North Temperate rather than Snow....

With a slight improvement in weather conditions the Wehrmacht are hoping to get things moving in the Soviet Union once more. Unfortunately they just cannot get the required odds and so matters continue to stall.

There is little to do in the Mediterranean. The TRS situation means that Sardinia won't be reinforced with troops any time soon.

Damn! The turn ends.... The CW do not get to consolidate their landing in Sardinia. How expensive will that prove to be?

Yes I tried it again using the lesser quality Swordfish as bombers to see if the calculation would be correct (allowing for Rain) and it was. So its good there is no bug if a battle happens - but bad that there is one if a battle doesn't!

Interestingly the picture shows two TRS - both with 5 defence rating. But one of the TRS actually has 6
All TRS should have a defence rating of 5. But if it is damaged then that value is one higher. So a 5 becomes a 6. So I suspect that the TRS with a value of 6 when you looked at it was damaged.

Orm you are a mine of information [&o][&o] Where the hell did you pick up that tidbit of info from??? [X(]

Yes, the TRS is now being repaired and shows on the Production Track as a 5. Here it is last turn (pre-repair the turn she got damaged) in the Repair Pool as a 6.

The Allies have had a real break with the weather here (although the Soviets aren't happy!) but the CW have little choice but to undertake a naval for the first impulse in order to get their units into place. They must then hope that the weather stays kind later in the turn....

The US meanwhile have a plan to reinforce the Philippines. I have somewhat mucked up on the carrier aircraft front. I have three more Essex-class arriving next turn but the aircraft for them are lagging behind.

This has been an excellent game to really get my teeth into what needs to be thought about by both sides (there is just sooo much) and one thing I think is crystal clear. A lot more thought (including written plans and memory joggers) needs to be employed for each turn, and indeed each impulse.

The Soviets in the north decide that the benefits of being in a city are outweighed by being further away from German aircraft! and also holding a line; Pskov and Vitebsk are therefore abandoned.

In the south there is really not much that can be done but for units in Stalino, Kharkov and Kursk to hold fast and hope that the dice god is kind....

The Italians leave nothing to chance and occupy the Italian Coast - they don't want the units in Cagliari being out of supply.

The Japanese have a whole host of problems - Communists are causing problems not only in China but also threatening Korea, while in southern and central China the situation is far from under control.

I haven't even considered garrisoning Truk! Good grief....

Targets for the Germans are becoming are difficult to find in the Soviet Union. The constant need to re-base aircraft is tough. There are only two ground strikes this impulse - against Kharkov and north of Smolensk.

In the Med, ground striking the CW units on Sardinia is tempting but the best bomber is out of position and the Italians simply cannot afford to risk NAV on such missions.

The Germans had not noticed there is a AA unit in Kharkov.
