Hi Osh,
Most impressive!

A boring attack across the line because the music plays in the south.

I break through the German/Hungarian front in two spots. Both breakthroughs are three hexes wide. Everything will be funneled through these two holes in the front. The encirclement is not air tight. There are approximately 30 German divisions in the pocket.

Exaggerated air losses for the Axis because I displaced many air fields in the rear.

very impressive, rewards all the care you have put into setting this up. Guess that Stef now has little choice but to redeploy from the lower Dniepr to see what he can rescue - but even if a lot of those Germans get out, this now looks like the Ukraine is going to see mobile warfare for the winter. Presume you have effectively negated his existing fort lines?

Very Nice. smart.
Now with many choices to exploit.
Rumanian could fall very soon in southern lunge.

Great to see mobile warfare on a large scale on the Soviet side for a change. Nicely done! Not sure how Stef can recover from this one....I'd recommend a push for Romania also. Once that domino falls Stef will not have the forces needed to cover his extended front lines (he doesn't even have them now after the Kiev pocket units are captured).
RE: T126 - South
I'm looking forward to more of that myself.

Don't get any ideas from Oshawott's success M60. The Fuhrer's much anticipated "wonder weapons" are already heading to the front!

I forgot to mention that I did an HQ buildup at the end of combat last turn with one of my tank armies. This was more or less for safety purposes. I need to be able to react to any sort of counterattack.
Stef decides to not let his men die without a fight. He uses some of his elite units to break the pocket. Incredible fighting. I herd the elite units into the pocket and close it again. Infantry is moved around to seal the pocket which is now even larger then before.
I tried to clear the rail line hex with the Hungarian unit in it but two attacks were repelled.
At the end of the turn I did another HQ buildup with 10th Army (Tanks, Western Front).

T127 - South with Combats
Screenshots of the south with combat. It's a dramatic change when the Russians switch from deliberate attacks to hasty attacks.

Yes, the fort lines have all been bypassed. But it's going to get much worth for him over the next two turns. The problem with this game is the unlimited supply the German and Russians can get in 42/43 because they start their offensives so close to the rail head.
RE: T126 - South
Amazing. How can you achieve so much with so small army? I must be a very poor general. I know I'm too cautious.
It seems the spot east of Zhytomir is a very dangerous place for German army. In my game the big pocket (biggest in my game, though incomparable with your great one) also happened here. Lured by the safety of the swamps, Kiev and Dnieper, the Axis are easily caught off-guard on the open terrain east of the city. Axis players, beware of Zhytomir pockets
