Freeboy - firstly to be clear there is no PBEM, Netplay or an AI. At the moment its solitaire only.

As for is this game manageable? Well the ruleset is big I'll give you that, but of course everyone has a different view of manageable. Have a look at my AARse V. I've only just started but am trying to give an explanation of the rules (complete with pictures) for every phase.

Just one more thing. THIS. GAME. IS. THE. BEST. WAR. GAME. EVER. FACT.

Someone else will have to answer all the technical stuff. The plan is to start up work again on Netplay in a couple of weeks I think. If it works as designed you will ultimately have up to six players playing the game. I think most people would settle for two right now.

Of course you can send the files by email, but the sequence of play for WiF has so many interactive decision points that people have had much greater success playing each other using the hotseat mode (designed for 2 players taking turns on the same computer) and using screen sharing programs plus Skye.

AFAIK the hotseat mode is just as stable and debugged as the solitaire mode.

ok.. makes more sense.. when I say pbem, I mean netplay.. like using the word Kleenex when I mean tissue.. ahhhh
So.. seems like linking players computers together in a safe net environment is simply a matter of time...
again this is good news.. whats next a sale price?
now that would push me over the edge!!!

freeboy, the game is complex but much of the complexity is handled by the computer. Most of the gameplay is manoeuvre and combat, which doesn't take too long to pick up. The tutorials are very thorough and the video tutorials are on YouTube.

It's a great game system and eventually all the stuff we want will be working.
