Nice to see the CM Tokiwa go down. That one is quite big and can carry a big load as a fast transport.

That is a very impressive early war sledgehammer. I eagerly await the results when you unleash it, specially since KB is being split. I'd even be comfortable with a CV exchange considering the force pools, but I think you will get the better of it.

Your deployment suggests you are going to surface counterpulse on AP's at the same time as drawing out a favorable CV battle?

Are you going to hide these puppies in nondescript small base(s) disbanded and wait - to make them harder to spot?

Cribtop forms his version of Panzer Corp in China at Nanyang.

Key: TT = Torpedo; bb = ground bombardment; c = casualties; b = base hits; s = supply hits; r = runway hits; p = port hits; f = fuel hits; AV = Assault Value; DC = Depth Charged; (*) = destroyed aircraft; If odds are italics, they are the Allies; BG = Bomber Group of 48 planes (4 x 12 bomber squadrons); FG fighter group = 25 fighter planes if American

Landings:
Ocean Island

CVs:
KB1 & 2 - MIA [&:][&:]
KB3 - Babeldoab
KB4 - MIA
CVEs - 3 South Ocean

Allied Mini-Death Star - South of Mataram (6 SE of Soerabaja).

Subs:
I-164 is 1 SW of Singapore. She sinks am xALK leaving Singapore for Palembang with part of a BF. I'm using three, now two, of these small xAKLs with small troop capacity and the Dutch transport planes to shift some Aviation Support from the empty Singapore AF to Palembang.
O-19 gets two TT hits on xAK at Ambon, but doesn't hear any sinking sounds.

India/Burma:
Moulmein -
Pegu -

China:
Trail to Ankang - 24 Nates escort in 9 Ann & 7 Sonia to hit troops moving up from Ichang area (2 hexes due north of that base) trying to get into Wood/Rough hex just in from clear terrain. Day 3 here. The Chinese Air Force from Changsha sends in 6 A-29s, 6 DB-3M, 5 SB-III to attack 13th Tk Rgt trying to get here.

KB3 seems to be in the trap zone. Is it time?

From the cheaps, it seems more and more like a China focused approach. Quick recoveries in DEI may the course of action with your CV power. He can't get to auto victory only in China, so he has to come out to play somewhere else.

China:
Trail to Ankang - 7 Sonia hit troops 3 SE of base in Wood/Rough hex just in from clear terrain. In clear terrain, there are the six Japanese tank rgt. Meanwhile, 2nd Chinese Corp (271 AV) and 67 Corp (183 AV) will join the small Corp (82 AV) and 30th Corp (242 AV). Just behind is the 45th Corp (161 AV) as it needs to travel 6 miles. How well will my infantry do vs armor??

Australia:

Engineers:

Notes/Plans:
Penrhyn - I just finished unloading an EAB and Port Maintenance Unit (second came a reinforcement). I also have an AS, AE, AR, 2 AV, PC, & DD based here. Plans are to build port up one level to 2 before working on AF 0(0) getting up to level one (111 engineers present). If the Allies keep the Line Islands, this base can be stop over to shuttle planes from Pearl over to Pago Pago and beyond.

Enemy CVs - screen shot shows three separate CV/CVL/CVE type TFs. However, the number of planes in each TF is not great. I believe these are KB 1 & 2 along with CVEs and the numbers are wrong as the PBYs out of Ellice Islands have NavS skills of just 34.

SC TF is 3 west of Babeldoab. It shows as just warships as it heads west. I will have my DS refueling at Balikpapan next turn.

IMO, I sense no urgency here to take Singapore. 20 LCUs at Temuloh in central part of peninsula, but no small arrows indicating movement out. Would this indicate any future campaign into India is not an option??

I would be having kittens at this point. Way too slow of an offensive.

WHERE is he going? There MUST be some sort of 'big' objective but I don't see it. Have you received any sort of Allied intelligence that might help?

Jan 1st overview - Luzon

Cribtop has made steady progress, but I have not offered much resistance to date. In Manila, I have 51k in supply, 1200 AV, behind level 3 forts. 16 ID is driving up from the south while I suspect the 48 ID and 65th Brigade are in the north.

Jan 1st overview - Eastern SRA

The only major base is Ambon. I move my British recon Buffalos to Kendari to get a more accurate picture of what he has at Ambon. See screenshot. My plans are for the Allied DS to refuel at Balikpapan and probable move briefly to Soerabaja (allow CV air groups to resize) and then linger at Mataram (6 SE of Soerabaja) to allow them to react in one day to be off Makassar to fly air strikes at an invasion of Kendari and/or to move up western side of Java to counter an invasion of Palembang.

I've recombined the 1st Burma ID and have it at Toungoo. Both Rangoon and Pegu have token forces left behind. Earlier Intel Reports showed Imp Gds ID up here to go along with elements of 55th ID. I expect to lose the southern half in the next few weeks.
