In Rumania, the Russian forces dispatched the defending forces in Bucharest. More importantly, they have been able to get through the Carpathian mountains ; there is still ground to cover, and HQ have to follow, but Germnay has but two corps in Vienna to stop them... and the puny Hungarian army.
South of the Pripet, Zhukhov broke the Russain lines by disatching an armor and mechanized. It was an assault (he could not force a blitz) ; otherwise, the situation would be even worse. And near Cernauti, the Russians closed the exit to a stack of German units which had been trapped for more than one turn by retreating disorganized armies : even though they wanted to retreat, it was no possible because the way out was clogged...
As we can see, there is not much remaining to stop the red army on this map. Of course, the Germna army north will engage an organized retreat to shorten the lines. But how fast will this retreat be in front of the advancing Russians ?
Everything holds on the weather. It was bad for germnay from March onward: the March/April turn saw no rain and lasted four impulses. If the September turn does the same, then the Germna are likely toast. If bad weather settle, then germany may have up to four turn to rebuild a serious defense.
