I'm quite ready with the new mod for the East Front but the problem is in wich way i can publish it on this forum?
We need the possibilty to upload zip files.
Anyway some counters to view.

Right,seem that after an initial enthusiasm the interest for this game is decreased.
My intention is to increase this interest with a mod that can reproduce the ASL scenarios.
For this purpose i have created almost all vehicle,Leaders and Squad included in ASL.
Are excluded all the big gun(SP or not),since this are used mainly off map.
I have created also a series of ASL map reduced, which means that there is the reproduction of the ASL map terrain but not the matching of each exagon(the dimension of the ASL maps is different from HoS).All the map from 1 to 13 are ready ,than there are others like the 40,17 etc.
More than 200 units are added but only German and Russian.The minor country are exclude also because there are so few scenarios with the Romanian,Italian and Hungarian.Another story is to add the Finnish but here we have winter rules (like sky) not covered by this game.
I hope to find a method to post all this material in a few months.

What you are doing sounds fantastic, if you manage to achieve your goals the popularity of this game would soar. Good luck with the project; I know that a great many people have been waiting for something like this for years. [:)][:)][:)]

I was playing an ASL/SL scenario that someone modded for this game...The Streets of Stalingrad. I noticed it is very unbalanced in this game as the Soviets in the tractor works bldg have a leader and all 1 FP units. The german infantry equipped with LMG's are able to enter into CC with impunity, as a pair of these can fight against many red squads with 1 FP and 1FP LMGs and take them out easily, while the other side has to use all units in a 1-2 or 1-3 odds CC. Way overbalanced for the germans in Stalingrad in OCT 42. Just saying. If you translate some ASL scenarios, you may have to make play balance changes.

To reach a true balance could be difficult.Are not the same games.Anyway all the value for the squad ,but mainly for the AFV armor and to hit table and penetration are related to ASL.All the to hit table have the same range number,and are 7-20-36.The penetration and to kill are in relation to the ASL values.
Untill now i have experimented 2 scenarios and both seem balanced.

The problem is where upload the files.At the moment i wait an answer from an Italian site with name netwargames italia but until now no answer.
Anyway there are some problem to realize some scenarios.
The problem of the LOS between different elevation is not at all solved and the problem of the overlay.
Some overlay are not used only to change terrain but also to relize AT ditch,Bunker and Road Block.
To add this terrain in the csv file is not a problem but to add the graphics is.
I asked Tom Proudtfoot to add letter,like T for trench,F for Foxole,to allow the use of this letter for overlay.
Overlay are frequent in the ASL scenario but for Tom there is no possibility.If others in the forum did prssure for this could be that Tom change idea.

How about it, Tom? There are plenty of people out there dying for a good Squad Leader/ASL mod, which would give your game new legs!
