Now that Force Z is sunk, you can safely let your BB's covering Mersing bombard the defenders.

Be aware, though, the BB's might damage the airbase, but I'd run the risk of not being able to use the AF for a day or two than chance the Allies getting a lucky roll!

Oh crap! I have been riding Jocke for losing Force Z on day 1 last game, and he has gone and done it again! Oh, my and I just posted another message in his AAR with a picture of Repulse fighting off Nells...oh my! Oh my.[:D]

Banzai![&o]

I will have to stop teasing him, he might quit![X(]

Mums the word from now on.

No need for that. You can take Mersing by shock attack on dec. 8 without much trouble. Don't waste the BB ammo on Mersing, it is hard to resupply them. No suitable base close by until you take Singapore.... Creating AKEs takes some time too!

Thanks guys, I wondered where all the hardcore JFB`s went to [8D]...Joc has the Dec. 8 turn already tho...oh well, better go make some AKE`s.

Lots of action...with surprisingly mild results, perhaps the weather helped me. Jocke organized one well coordinated escorted airstrike against the shipping off Mersing, which ran into a heavy CAP. Looks like the Flak did him more then the CAP.

I`m sure the Port Strikes the previous day sank two of the AM`s, which didn`t help his exit plan. Either the 4 Clemson DD`s are still in Manila Harbor or they got through the mines and are gone...we have no decent air search around west and south of Manila waters.

Dec. 11 report from IJNGS HQ. It looks like The Army has finally sealed off Singapore.

We have 9/10 DL there and the LCU count has jumped from 13 on the 9th. to 26 now, either General Jocke railed some units down, or he is re-enforcing the base with scrap Dutch LCU by air transport. He couldn`t have shipped them in. Or DL is very FOW`ed in this game.

Looks like he pulled what`s left of his Air out. He still has 8 port damage so he shouldn`t be at 1 Forts yet.

Even worse, it looks like he is bringing "The Big Sword" AKA every un-sunk sub from the Asiatic Fleet to the fight....and there are a bunch. Looks like we only sunk 5-6 on Dec. 7.

Might have been better to have split off Kaga to add to the Manila port strike.

Questions are, do I pull KB out before some Sub badness gets to it ?

Or keep it in the area as a ASW TF ?

The Shogunate observes....

Dec. 13 1941

IJNGS is pleased to report all operations are proceeding according to our Master Plan.

A desperate surface attack by the remnants of the Asiatic Fleet against our Landing TF at Minado was stopped with great gallantry by the close cover TF, Veteran Des. Div. 13 led by Cmdr. Naoi Toshio in flagship CL Nigara. Initial reports are that the enemy lost 1 BB`s, 4 CA`s and 8 DD`s..[;)]...

Despite some murmurs from my Staff that "perhaps some heavy units should have been with the Close Cover TF" we must move quickly forward and take risks.

The Shogunate is depressed... with what happens when you are inattentive to time and space. And what Jocke Can Do as opposed to what he is Likely to Do.

The Shogunate....relaxes[8D]

Reports from our agents in Manila tell us that General MacJocke has fled toward Australia, along with his puppet Governor, various family members, assorted girlfriends and all the Philippines Islands Gold reserves.

Our G4M1`s along their South East escape route have stood down.....to allow a great propaganda victory !

A rare picture of our deep cover agent in Manila Army HQ.

If there are any sentient beings looking at this AAR, it is sad to report that this Game wound down. No one`s fault, just real life impacting unrealistic game style expectations....

Jocke is a nice guy, a true gentleman and a wonderful, fun opponent for anyone with game experience....

Sad to see it end. I was following. I sense from your comment that you weren't sure people were paying much attention. It often seems like that starting an AAR, but it's something that builds over time, especially a dual AAR game.
just real life impacting unrealistic game style expectations....

Curious what this means? Turn rate? Or playing style differences? Something else?
