Broke Game ARGHHHH!

Civil War 2 is the definitive grand strategy game of the period. It is a turn based regional game with an emphasis on playability and historical accuracy. It is built on the renowned AGE game engine, with a modern and intuitive interface that makes it easy to learn yet hard to master.
This historical operational strategy game with a simultaneous turn-based engine (WEGO system) that places players at the head of the USA or CSA during the American Civil War (1861-1865).

Broke Game ARGHHHH!

Post by bigjue »

What kind of piece of crap game is this? It just deletes my saved game and screams the files are corrupt or what ever. I generally back up a game like this every so often under another file name just for when crap like this happens, but no the genius that designed that part of the game gave us no option for a normal thing like that. So I have lost hours of game time because the computer turns take for ever. Don't buy this crappy game.

You must be just stupid.
You might have issues but most dont, saying dont buy this game is low and tells about you as a person, piece of crap.

Actually, I don't think anyone much likes the way in which AGEOD prevents you from naming game files so you can keep track of them and/or allowing multiple saved game files so you can go back to a good version in instances like this ... or, in many cases where you play solitaire, to go back and try different strategies at what are later seen to be turning points.

But preventing you from naming games something that means something so you can keep track of them ... that takes the cake, IMO. [:@][:@][:@]

Read that:

My games usually crash while computing a turn, so i always save before
clicking "next turn".

Yes, you can do it ... sort of ... but it is neither easy nor intuitive like virtually every other game that Matrix sells ... you actually have to fight against the system as it exists. [:@] And only the last three turns. [:@] Not good, IMO. [:@]

YMMV

The file General.opt has an entry 'sysBackupNum = 12' at the end of file that
sets the number of backup folder to 12.

And i'll guess we need one or two more patches to fix the CTDs.
Submit crash dump files to help analyze.
