Whatever happened to....

What ever happened to the patch that was going to remove army maintenance or something like that? I think it was v1.6? I remember that being talked about awhile ago, but it seems like the past few times I've been here there hasn't been much going on on any subject, including the aforementioned patch. I love this game and would like to see it improved.

As an aside, even without the patch this is a very good game. I haven't had a chance to play other peeps yet, but I look forward to doing so when I have some more time. Matrix is one of just a few publishers that have helped to truly keep alive the wargaming tradition (I hate it when FPS games like Call of Doody are called "war games" :( and I try to purchase all the games that interest me and that I can reasonably afford.

The 1.6 patch is in beta testing right now. Release date unknown, but dependent on how well beta goes. Patch probably doesn't eliminate maintenance, but everybody has to pay it now, along with getting some PP adjustment to help them along.

I'm the betting the relative silence on the board in general is related to folks just biding their time to see how the game plays after the 1.6 patch is released.

Currently playing Shogun 2 on Steam while I wait.

Looks like I might be re-installing this game. I lost interest not long after 1.30 and never installed it again (after my older computer crashed.)

1.60 sounds like a big improvement,(considering 1.30 being the last version I've played). Looking forward to it!
