Jeffrey H."wacky with the game balance"

It may be necessary to make infantry unit types for the soviets a lot cheaper, possibly half the cost of other European countries. Soviet rifle divisions were thrown together very quickly, they were certainly of dubious quality, but they caused a drip effect on the Germans gradually wearing them down. This could be a war trip event.

This would include engineers to allow the Soviets to throw up fortified positions along large parts of the front quickly. A soviet Rifle Division was not of much value unless it was dug in, once dug in it could stop the best the Germans had to offer.

Actually I agree in a way because I think the manpower, (in the game) is not limiting in any serious way for any nation. That also explains how the British are unfazed at the prospect of engaging the Germans and Russians in a land war.

Maybe if it was cheaper then we would use it more ?

History began July 4th, 1776. Anything before that was a mistake.

If the German player has backed out I would be happy to jump in. Just to keep the game going.

There is currently no turn in the Dropbox. I have a GD1938Game11GermanyTurn40 that I can put up there. Does anyone have a newer turn?

I went ahead and put the GD1938Game11GermanyTurn40 up on Dropbox. If there is a better, newer turn please add it.

Axis turn 40 the Italians were let of the leash, as they were the proverbial Greyhounds in the slips. So much allied steel rolling Germany's way I will have to assume the Allies have melted down the Eifel Tower. The Germans have accepted Japans offer of Alliance, hopefully some day we may be able to fight shoulder to shoulder with our Asian Kin.

There has been a change of command at the top in Germany. They are much more aggressive now and are revealing great
strength. The Italians have entered the fray.

Here is a map of the battle field around the big battles near Scapa Flow.

The big battle around Scapa Flow showed the strength of the German Navy. The RN had some success in the counter-attack but there are still plenty of U-Boats
sailing.

In Turkey we continue to battle the Red Army. In North Africa the French and some British cavalry push aside weak Italian garrisons. The new aggressiveness of the Axis, and Soviets, will be a challenge. We may find ourselves on the defensive. Hopefully the USA will build up rapidly.

Just to throw more light on the naval operations around Scapa Flow the German attack on Scapa Flow, was aimed at the British Fleet of Aircraft carriers based at Scapa Flow. Only two Aircraft Carriers out of nine survived the German attack the Germans consider this a good exchange for the subsequent submarine losses especially since the German subs were likely to be overrun in port for no allied loss at least this way they go down fighting.

The bill from the German's initial assault on Scapa Flow makes the battle clearer. The Kriegsmarine had been
quiet for so long that this big effort was unexpected. By looking at the results from the German assault and the
Royal Navy counter attack the scale of the battle is revealed. This was much bigger than Jutland.

I moved the file GD1938 France turn 41 from e-mail to the Dropbox, I assumed Chuck received France turn 41, but just in case I thought it best to move the file.
