Production Problem?

Post by warspite1 »

I think there may be an issue with the Production Summary (below) in my latest AAR

Image

The above is a summary of the situation in Mar/Apr 1940 in Germany.

This shows I have 30 factories.

The number of factories is correct as per the manual breakdown below

The Production Summary suggests (I think) that the Germans have 33 resources:

6 - Oil (2 controlled and 4 received from trade (TS)
27 - Non-oil (17 controlled and 10 TS)
--
33

This accords with the manual check I made:

The Production Summary suggests there are 17 controlled resources and 10 from TS.

The 3 convoyed should be counted in the Trade Received (they are from Sweden).
The Lost to EZOC is also TS as its the Finnish one. One French (of six) belongs to Italy.

So, if the Germans have 33 resources and they are lending 5 to Italy (which is confirmed on the Production Summary) then they should have 28 left.

With 30 factories I should be able to use all 28 less the Finnish = 27.

Last turn I saved 10 resources with the Germans (I am saving for an Offensive Chit) but we will come to that in a minute.

It seems 1 Resource is lost to EZOC - which means probably some enemy unit is ZOCing the railway or the resource itself preventing it to get to the factory.
Have a look for Partisans you could have around or other possible issues of railroad network.

EDIT - Just noticed you pointed that out already.
So pratically a resource is missing in the math?

Sorry I am still setting out the problem (if indeed there is one) [;)]

According to the Production Summary they have 27 resources that are going to factories to be turned into Build Points.

However, there are five resources that do not seem to be included in the Production Summary detail (but no resources show as idle):

The below is a summary of the Production Summary detail which follows in the next couple of tables:

So the below is the 33 resources less the lost Finnish one = 32.

So if we look at oil resources first:

There are two controlled (Germany and Austria)

If we then look at Trade Received we have 4 (USSR and Romania) - and these also match up with the manual summary I made.

A total of 6 oil resources. All being sent to factories and none idle.

Now if we look at the non-oil we have 16 resources going into production (not 17)

EDIT: Well that is just the damndest thing. This screen now looks different!!!!! See post 17 - it has changed without me doing anything...

The TS detail screen shows 9 of the 10 going to production (this is correct as the Finnish is lost and the other 4 are captured in the oil data (2 x Rom and 2 x USSR)

I do not see the French resource in hex 62,31 (Alps) listed here. Could it be that it is counted as a Italian resource?

Edit: I thought you traded 5 resources to Italy but I see only 4 here?!

So where the hell am I going with all this [&:]

The Production Summary states I have:

19 controlled and 14 TS resources = 33 (incl 3 convoyed (we'll ignore that this is in the wrong category)
of which, 1 is lost to EOC = 32
5 are lent to Italy = 27

But according to the detail only 25 are going to production. The 16 + 9 from post 11 and 12

Not only that, but 4 are going to factories in Italy and not Germany. I have lent Italy 5 resources not 4 (as per below).

I can confirm Italy are only receiving 4 even though there are enough factories for the extra (there is one idle).

When I click on the Total Resources on the Production Summary (27 Producing) - this shows 5 German resources missing. I do not seem to be able to locate them on the Production Summary.

So I am more than a little confused.

I have a trade agreement for 5 Italian resource. Four are being sent.

I have 33 resources - less one Finnish) - which, after 5 to Italy gives enough to feed 27 factories - (I have three factories idle) but the program says I have no resources idle. This is correct.

I have 10 saved Build Points from the previous turn but I have only 34 to spend this turn. Even if 27 (less 2 BP to USSR) was correct, that gives 25 + 10 but I have only 34 BP to spend.

The program tells me I have 12 saved by the way.....

HELP!!!!!!!!!

Can you put the game save in here? I can't understand your reasoning here, so the save might help me to find out what's wrong (if there is anything wrong...).

This never works for me - can you tell me how to do that and I will post.

What is unclear on the reasoning?

I have the wrong amount of trade being sent (despite the program confirming otherwise)
I have the wrong amount of BP being saved (I saved 10 last turn, the program says 12 but neither add up when added to the Build Points produced this turn).
I have the wrong amount of idle resources being shown (the program says none). This is correct.

although I've probably just missed something obvious knowing me.....

One other thing I noticed. There are three saved BP markers - 2 in Leipzig and 1 in Dresden???
