So does the dotted arrow to Rossel mean you tried to invade it but failed? Either way its a very good informative graphic to capture an entire years worth of campaigning in one picture. And a successful if by the books campaign as well.

Ups, Just missing label
. There was naval action, my cruisers sunk a few Spider's APD.
Well my English is bad and nice picture can be more informative than 1000 words.

That is a whole lot of oil lost at this point in game!! You're doing quite well in spite of planes not flying.
Are you trying any day missions at less defended targets?

Yes I am. Last turn 60 B-24 bombed unprotected Djambi destroying 155 oil centers.
However I do not have many minor target mirror in range yet. AF on Java gives me range to bomb two the most important, Palembang and Blikpapan.

From the Japanese side I also know that killing even HI/LI can really hurt, but in this case maybe you're happy to leave it as it might be yours soon anyway judging from your current position. [:)]

Well, As I said before, Java operation is limited in range operation. I wanted to sunk his fleet, destroy his oil wells to weaken his fleet and make him busy before main offensive at beginning '44. I am going make main advance in central pacific. Walking island by island in DEI it is very time and resource consuming way to advance, I do not like idea. Now when I have naval superiority I can do what I want on pacific and he cannot stop me.

Yep. First wiping a bunch of ships out and then hitting most of his oil production will certainly hurt.
If you're not worried about him getting extra troops in the reinforcement package, and if you're confident in your naval advantage, I hope you're considering the Kuriles.

Have you tried night attacks on the port to hit the tankers?
Does anyone know if night attacks by heavy bombers on Naval/Port attack work? I can only recall one very effective port strike in Japan by Artez using B-29s that killed a lot of ships including Yamato. Scenario was "Downfall".
Destroy his shipping and you get to keep the oil for your ships later!

I did it with B-17 at Salomon Island some time ago. It work well, I sunk 2 DD and few mirror ships and damaged 3 CA. His ports in range of my bombers are empty right now, it seems he know that it work too

I would be very happy if he decide send reinforcements to Java. I do not need take whole island, much better is to keep it as "black hole" witch will consume his supplies, a/c and LCUs.
We are playing without house rules, as result he move a lot of LCUs from China to Burma and Malaya. Due to this reinforcements both theatres are closed for Allied in '43 or even early '44.
Less IJA divisions on pacific islands less time and resources it will cost me next push.

Southwest Pacific HQ: Operation "Bigfoot" - Battle of Semarang.
Oil centers destroyed total count: 320
7th and 25th Division supported by 8 tanks battalions took position to assault Semarang at 22th evening. It Seems that Japanese commander predicted this attack because 3 CA and 4 DD came to bombard allied positions at night. However enemy cruisers did not left area at morning and huge air battle was fought over base. 5th USAAF lost 38 planes and claims 69 Japanese fighters, mostly deadly N1K1-J. Next 300 5h USAAF bombers drops bombs over Japanese positions. Base was captured at cost 400 allied troops, empire losses were over 4000 man, remaining enemy forces retreat towards Soerakarta.
Additionally CA Ashigara was hit by 7 1000lbs bombs, CA Nachi was hit by one torpedo and 3 1000lbs bombs and CA Myoko by 3 1000lbs bombs. CA Nachi is reported as sunk. Anyway I am afraid that I will not see those cruisers aging during Java campaigning.
It seems to me that Spidery finally noticed that I am not aiming for Batavia. His units at Cheribon tried counterattack in failed attempt to reopen connection between south and north parts of Java.

Successful night raid at Palembang. Returning pilots reported at least 33 hits and over 20 fighters kills.
TF 83 send 69 Hellcats to sweep Batavia sky. They meet 18 Oscars and 9 Gorges in air. 3 Hellcats down for 4 Gorges and 13 Oscars.
Japanese 1st Tank Div supported by 17th Div successfully counterattacked and pushed back 43rd US Div and 30th Aus Bde. They are marching now south in clear terrain. I have ordered all 500 bombers of 5th USAAF and 6 carriers group to destroy Spidery's LCUs tomorrow. There is just 6th Aus Div blocking way I am afraid that without support it will fail to stop his advance. OK time to decide what next. General plan is to land on Marianas Islands before end of year and once more bleed out Japanese fleet.
But I still do not have any clue what next, Philippines ?, Okinawa ? Formosa ? China ? Japan ? I would grateful for any advice you guys can offer.
